Bad News About LED vs HPS

How people get all these purported cal/mag deficiencies I can't imagine. Calcium usually builds up in hydro plants to about 10x required levels. Fortunately it's not toxic so doesn't cause a problem. Too much mag actually lowers potency and mag really is toxic in excessive amounts. Maybe you mean in soil but really how does anyone not supply enough cal or mag, both being easily available from dolomite lime?
And though calcium isn't toxic, it will cause other elements to become unavailable in high amounts. Try growing with a water supply with almost 300 ppm of CaCO3.

Hyperbole much? You won't need anywhere near those concentrations of Ca. I personally only needed to dose a tiny bit Ca extra and with my current nutrients brand they get enough calcium from the stock mix already.

Either way, Ca uptake is not influence by spectrum as was claimed. It's not cause by "bad" light or "bad news".

microwaves destroy the bud, lol. when you dry out your next batch, listen for those tiny poppin sounds, that is your tri's exploding,

The fastest way to cure your bud is a freeze dryer, heard it cures in 24 hours from CHOP. Dries, cures and ready to roll in 24 hours.

The appliance is like $3,000 but id imagine, if it does what Ive seen it do, it would be like a time machean.

can be done even faster with a sweat cure

I tried freeze drying just in a closed container with dissicant, I think silica gel. Didn't dry at all. I guess it won't work if you pack a bunch in there. Few people can buy a commercial unit. You can do it in a container like that but it would have to be like a single layer on a screen or something. I made a vacuum with a wine bottle vacuum cork thing. Just search for wine vacuum pump or something like that if you want one. I drilled a cork sized hole in the container lid and stuck the cork in it and vacuumed it out. Made the lid suck right down. Guess you would need a more solid lid container. The lid sucking down reduced the volume inside a lot.

i dont think any of these quick dry methods are actually doing "curing" which is a process separate from just drying

in 20+ years ive never really had anything smoke well that is dried in less than 5 days

best for me is to dry in 5-7 days at 70-75F, 40-50ish RH and keep it in jars or buckets at ~50% RH and burp it for at least another week

after 5 days they feel dry on the outside but the extra bucket cure lets the moisture distribute itself through the buds uniformly so the insides and outsides are the same moisture

sweat curing works a charm in only 15 hours and smokes great

I use all Agromax bulbs.

I use 2-veg, 2-bloom, 2-pure par, 1-10,000k+uva and 1-5400k.

You can use the 10kuva bulbs full time.

I never run the t5 6 inches away. I run them about 12-15 inches. The unit I use double stacks the bulbs. Its the same width as a normal 4 bulb unit. Any closer and it burns the plants.

Both were autos and dense.

I may use the cobs above and t5 for side lighting. Don't know yet. Ill figure it out.

Smaller chips may be the new thing but I got the cob rig for a good price.
nice looking buds. going to be hard to improve on what you already have. when my 2 ft T5 went out I converted it to a 3 bulb 2G11 fixture to get a little more intensity and efficiency.a little curious. with the performance your getting out of those T5s why are you switching to COBs?

so what is the method?
take a pint jar and fill it half full of bud make sure lid is tight

put 2 inches of water in crockpot, place jar in crockpot with lid on (pint jars fit under the lid of most crockpots, you can use a quart jar but then need to put a towel over it)

Run crockpot on high for 2 hours, switch to low and wait for moisture condensation to form on the inside of the jar above the buds

remove jar and let cool VERY IMPORTANT DO NOT OPEN JAR UNTIL COOLED, if you do you lose all the terps

Once jar is cooled off open jar let sit for 12 hours

Smoke and enjoy

fan leaves not even dusted, color me unimpressed...
Thank you.

I personally believe that its more the grower than the light. I get all the performance I need from the t5.

It may be hard to improve on.

All I had to do was pay shipping to test the light. I wanted to see what the hype is about.

If nothing else ill just have another light and start another tent.

No exaggeration here, 284 ppm of Calcium Carbonate in my well water. So a RO is a must.
My nutrients are the same, no need for a cal-mag supplementation with my nutrients and less than 10 ppm RO water.
