He didnt say he was using organic anyways. I grow with general hydroponics 3 part nutes in rockwool. You better believe in that situation you NEED to flush those salts out and if you run micro and nitrogen past a certain point your going to have major issues. You guys can say whatever the fuck you want but I still have nugs in my cabinet that I wouldnt dare smoke. I tried to change my nutrient regimen and it didnt work out. Only idiots use soil indoors so I was assuming he was using rockwool or coco.

Well, im not going to disrespect anyone's choice of media but as I see it their is only two reasons to go hydro. 1. Is space. 2 is because its faster.
Lets concentrate on 2. Isnt DWC and bubbleponics faster than rock wool or coco? If going rock wool or coco cause its cheaper and easier then why wouldnt you go Hempy instead?

And if you feed the plants the right amount then you wouldnt need to try to remove it. I dont know how your going to remove it from the buds by leaching the media though....Could you explain the science behind it?

Im one of the idiots who use soil so what would I know though, right? I water my plants often but dont leach the soil. I spent time and money putting the nutes into that.

Flushing is a myth - period. The plant doesn't work that way! You can not flush nutrients out of a plant!

Read this, I mean it. Take the time and READ it.

I got asked about this in a PM by a member after seeing the disaster another thread became. He asked where to find books and papers on "flushing" and said he might try the "fade".

Here's my answer to him......I felt it needs to be seen,,,,,,again! (I wish I had a buck for every time I post this)

Your looking for post grad work. You would do better to search papers......The thing is, NOTHING in agriculture gets 'flushed" and that leads to little to no research in the area. You see, the thing is, the whole "idea" of "flushing is nonsense! Plants don't work that way! They do not take up nutrients or salts as most of you think of them! They do not "store" them in the sense you think of them! Not only that, but the nutritional "stores" in a plant are not in buds or budding or flowers! NO amount of "flushing" will "exchange" plant "stored" nutrition back "out" of the plant! Scientifically impossible by the way most of you guys understand......Ok, that's my word on "flushing". (No one listens to this in threads if they don't want to hear it or accept it.)

Now then, you propose the "FADE TO FINISH" method. Great idea in theory but, and this IS a BIG BUT! Remember when I said above that "the nutritional "stores" in a plant are not in buds or budding or flowers!" ? This shoots that theory in the ass right away. You see the main amount of stored nutrition is in either the roots and the rest in leaves and some in small amounts in transit in the phloam (the sap that actually moves the nutrients around the plant)......

Now when you "starve a plant" it will draw from it's self by actually breaking down the needed parts of it's self to do an "emergency" attempt to reproduce! (This can happen in certain plants even in veg! A kind of last ditch effort to continue the species.)

With that in mind you take the fact that the plant is not "moving" nutrients "out" of buds, but into them to speed growth and as fast as it can - "reproduce". This single minded process the plant now puts it's self on causes the plant to stress it's self. This self induced stress can, in many cases if done long enough, lead the plant to go bisexual, and produce "banana's" in a last ditch effort to reproduce and "carry on the line" and produce seeds...

Basically put, In reality you are moving nutrients that you're "attempting" to get rid of,,right to where your trying to remove them from! You are also stressing the plant in the way for "Herming" to actually happen easier!

I and many others that have tried to convey this actual plant science, are called everything you can think of and those 'impossible of understanding these facts", fight so hard against us that many of us have simply chosen to avoid the issue or don't fight to hard.

Anyway, there you are in as short and sweet and as simple/understandable as I can...

The thing is you have to understand Botany and Horticulture (and there are LOTS of subsections to those that are involved here) to truly put together the pieces of the puzzle to get your head wrapped around the idea that flushing and the "fade" don't work for what they are intended or alleged to actually do!

You have 0 concept of how plants actually work..... I strongly suggest that you consider taking some botany and hort class's at your local Community College..

the reason weed burns badly and leaves black ash, is because people don't dry and cure properly. it has nothing to do with nutrients being trapped in the bud.
your dry should take a MINIMUM of 5 days, and another 5 in the jar curing before it even begins to be ready, and thats the BARE minimum, if you can stretch the dry out to 7-10 days and at least two weeks in the jar, you'll see that i'm right, that your weed burns nice, tastes nice, and leaves a nice white ash. and it all has absolutely nothing to do with flushing.

My bud cures for a min of a month in jars with boveda packs a rotate regularly. Hell I smoked a bud last night that was about six months curing an it was amazing how well it developed over that time.

Do you like to burp the jars down to 62 then put the boveda packs in, or you cure from jump with them?

I only ask because I have been doing the former

Once they dry for around 7 to 8 days I simply toss them in a big sealed metal container after two weeks I shake it gently just to rotate them one more week then into glass mason jars with packs for storage. The jars sit in a closet in complete darkness to preserve thc as best as possible.

With the boveda packs I see no need to burp them never had an issue since switching to this method

Ohh you guys believe that curing can turn chemed out weed into white smoking shit?? I added some micro in week 6 one time and that shit STILL burns black after 2 fucking years of curing. You guys are fucking delusional. You may say you dont flush but you do weather you want to admit it or not. You arent going to hit your plants in week 8 like you would in week 4 or 5. So what are you doing? Decreasing the amount of nutrients, FLUSHING! Argue all you want but I know from experience, you cant tell me those times I had chemed out weed that if I let it cure it will be just fine! BULLSHIT! You say Im stupid but you guys are delusional. Youre like hipsters, I was wearing a fedora before every fag was wearing one so Im the coolest! You guys arent looking to help this guy you just want to spew shit from your mouth. No one asked what nutes he was using or even medium you just spew out DONT FLUSH IT!!! PUT MICRO, NITRO AND SUGAR IN IT IN WEEK 8 GO FOR IT BUDDY! Im gonna be real and tell him hey dont cut it down until its yellowed out or your going to have problem cutting down a green as fuck plant ESPECIALLY if youre using synthetic fertilizer.
