You don't create a new strain by focusing on phenotype expression within a genetic line, which is what you're describing. Here is something strange that most people probably do not realize.
Many strains are simply just a certain cut of a certain strain, for example Cindy 99 is just a special cut of Skunk #1, and Green Crack is just a special cut of Skunk #1, and Cheese is just a special cut of Skunk # 1. Skunk # 1 itself is a certain Phenotype of Skunk, which is a wider variety.
Tahoe OG is just an OG Kush variety, and OG Kush comes from Chemdawg, Premium Diesel is just a special cut of Chemdawg. Original Diesel has Chemdawg and Skunk genetics, both with Skunk # 1 in their lines. And there are tons of other examples in the OG/Diesel/Chemdawg line.
And if you take the special cut of Skunk # 1 called Cindy 99, and mix that with the special cut of Skunk # 1 called Cheese, you get a new strain.
Another example is that the Kong strain used to make Danky Kong was a strain that had been being cloned and shared around Colorado dispensaries and had been dubbed "Colorado Kong".
So it is possible to create strains within strains, and make clone only varieties that are only available because it was a weird almost fluke mutant seed that ended up being different than the rest of its brothers and sisters.
So within my new strain, the new breed I make that I use as breeding stock, similarly to Bomb seeds "Bomb # 1" that they use to basically create a new version of every popular strain, but just a bigger plant and bigger yield because of their "Bomb # 1" Genetics. I don't know if mine will be the F1 Phenotype or some random fluke plant, but I'm going to find a plant that has THCV and smells combined in a way that has not been seen before.
Sure, people mix Durban with Cindy, or Durban with Girl Scout Cookies (it's even already in Girl Scout Cookies) and maybe someone grows Malawi Gold, and maybe they even mix it with Diesel. Or they grow Zamdelica, or whatever. But no one has decided that Durban was not going to be their focus, that they were going to mix in as many fruit tones as possible, and that they wanted high THCV. No one has done all of that, and usually when anyone does anything close its with Durban only.
Have you ever very been like "I've got some Banana X, want to try some?" and ever had anyone say to you, "I don't know, I'm not sure what Bananas taste like."?Either you are going to know you are going to love the Banana Flavor and you will love it, or you know you are going to hate it and you are going to hate it.......
.......what...
That's not what I said. You don't create a new strain by focusing on phenotype expression within a genetic line, which is what you're describing.
Just because someone gets a kush, or whatever, that expresses generic differences than any other plant within its lineage doesn't mean it's a new stain, just a new phenotype expression.
Start crossing lineages and poof, new strains with all new genetic expressions that need to be grown out, en mass, to be identified.
I'll admit, some of your ideas are interesting and maybe worth exploring. Just the way you present it is extremely poorly executed and documented, hence the vitriol.
I definitely have an issue with every Tom, Dick, and Harry cross breeding, then calling it thier "new stain" without the actual breeding program to prove its stability. I've looked into breeding for personal use, I figure it would take a minimum of 3 years and a couple hundred seed pops before I would even think about it being something I could say was unique and genetically stable. If I was doing it commercially, IDK how long I'd invest in breeding, if my name's on it, I'd be doubly vigilante in making sure they were stabilized and grew out as I said. I think I read something like 5% variation is considered "stable" , so if you pop 100 seeds, no more than 5 should show genetic disparity. And if you come back saying "Tahoe OG and Green Crack aren't Strains, they are phenotype expressions" or whatever, then your problem is not with me, it's with the whole marijuana industry.
Ok. So I definitely get where you are coming from, but the Marijuana industry isn't there yet.I definitely have an issue with every Tom, Dick, and Harry cross breeding, then calling it thier "new stain" without the actual breeding program to prove its stability. There are very few truly "stable" strains out there. Dutch Passions Durban Poison is the only strain I've found to grow consistently the same from seed over a dozen and a half seeds in 5 years. Some kushes I've grown were close, but still showed some disparities.
You said it was a cut of skunk. Then go on to say a lot of good crosses are random. And please show me where I ever once said Cindy 99 was a random cross? I said it was a special selected cut.
LolYou said it was a cut of skunk. Then go on to say a lot of good crosses are random.
Learn what words mean.
All I'm saying is don't think you are fooling anyone.
You are so full of shit your eyes are brown.
Lol, when I leave you guys just attack each other, lol.
I got a green crack cross it's a regular unfeminized strain called bubble crackThe Banana Crack is a good size, and the seeds were feminized, so I am most likely going to flower Banana Crack this round, with Blue Mystic and Early Durban, and I will pollinate them with a Malawi, African Buzz, or South African Kwazulu male.
Nope. That was still a joke making fun of you.Lol, when I leave you guys just attack each other, lol.
They're just hating on you because they know your decades ahead of your time. Keep up the groundbreaking work.Just an update
The Banana Crack is doing really well, and I got a single Strawberry Stardawg seed and that did really well too. I will have picture updates soon, but Holy Smoke Seeds has really really good plants.
All my other plants look nice and grew well (still growing, just talking about what has happened so far); but the Banana Crack and Strawberry Stardawg got a late start, but I transplanted them with the others, and they shot up huge and fast, with stems as thick as the largest of the ones that started before them, and about the same height as the ones that started before them.
And when topped all the branches are getting bigger. I lollipopped it so that it only has 6 branches grown out, and they are all basically looking like tops.
So just wanted to point out, as the seedlings got bigger and the plants showed how they were doing, different ones got replaced and taken out; and I put in the Strawberry Stardawg, and the Holy Smoke Seeds look like the best plants out of all of them in my opinion.
You still haven't admitted you were wrong about the court case, I am probably just going to block you soon. Like I did Srh88 and Uncle Buck. One time I saw srh88's post because I wasn't logged in yet, and I responded to him and he was so happy.Lets see some pics of those healthy plants.
All talk and no walk. You talk a big game but won't back it up.
What ever. Like its a privilege to talk to you.You still haven't admitted you were wrong about the court case, I am probably just going to block you soon. Like I did Srh88 and Uncle Buck. One time I saw srh88's post because I wasn't logged in yet, and I responded to him and he was so happy.
Don't abuse the fact that I still let you talk to me.

Stop abusing the fact that he gives you permission to speak to him. Straighten out, before you lose privileges.LOL!!!!!!
You can't make this stuff up.
So....... No plants? We didn't think so.
