Ooooooooh.............looking forward to this!!!Hahaa! Nothing like a sweet Saturday morning to catch a new bug lol
A scary and bumpy - and sometimes sketchy - road, I won't deny it, but fully worth the adventure and those moments of incredibly mindblowing discovery and realization! Apart from the fact that our very continued existence on the planet is closely linked to our finally understanding all that and changing our anti-microbial ways to turn things round and bring real health back to the soils, landscapes, critters and thus also ourselves
I've just resolved to be more exacting in my observations and hope to discover more specifically about the microbial developments in the course of our indoor grows by monitoring my next few rounds via time course microscope assessments of the microbial herd. Probably going to start a thread on here too to share what I find or don't find... so nice rabbit hole pending right there lol
Cheers!
u should defanetly do a thread on that dudeHahaa! Nothing like a sweet Saturday morning to catch a new bug lol

I'll be honest with you.......'I' personally found bottles and ph'ing simpler and easier to have control over your plantsdam man those some beutifull looking plants i gotta say i miss the other thread u had dons it really inspired me to learn about and go organic and so far im loving it havent gotte to a harvest yet but fuck i love organics id give up if i constently had to adjust ph and all that crap lol i even got a compost tumbler and stuff its half full with a soil i did it was a pre made so all ihad to do was mix it wit a base and airation and what not its been cooking for like 2 months now ill be using it soon glad to see ur not rusty tho man
i think im the exact opp tbh i was gunna give coco ago but the whole phing the water is doas my head in the whole procces is frustrating to me to a degree soil is to cuse theres so mutch im tring to learn about it what amendments and the ratios atm i thinking for me id be better off using a soil on the simpler side of things and using teas an more feeding the amendments to my worms so the castings contain those things but i think im gunna keep it simple untill iv had a few harvestsI'll be honest with you.......'I' personally found bottles and ph'ing simpler and easier to have control over your plants
Hahaha..........don't go there!!!
I did kinda warn him ... I see you think not enough though LOLIt's as dark and deep as the led forum, pmsl
Thanks for bringing that up like that! I knew there was a thing as CEC, but new to me there's a whole approach using that aspect of the soil as indicator. Will definitely delve into that a bit, seems it originated around the same time as Liebig and Francé were exploring the soil too!base cation saturation levels
Good speed for your move!! you guys seem to be super organized so it'll surely go down in a jiffSo far it's running like clockwork mate if I'm honest. Between the Mrs writing lists and me doing what's on em anyway haha. We will be in by Wednesday but the decor needs attending too first. It's all well and good when I'm getting paid to decorate but it's shit when I'm paying lol.
And tiny cola's new favourite pastime is a really shrill squeaking cacophony. God bless mary jane
In fact, it is already begun, as I could not bring myself to take the pot I just harvested the Pineapple Express from apart, destroying, once again, a whole ecosystem...Ooooooooh.............looking forward to this!!!
wow lol musta been a pretty skinny dude/tte!!Figured out the first molemans use for the secret room. It was a dark room. View attachment 4019332 View attachment 4019335
Although it doesn't look it. I probably have about 5ft of height to the joists. Need to get a measure on it tomorrow and get a specific and start looking for a tent to fit. Eventually 3 tents are to be down there. Clone/veg/Bloom. And I dont have to worry about eyes in the sky now. Just the nosey af neighbours. Haha
It was a photographer that dug it for a dark room over 20 years ago. There's one creepy af over exposed photo of 2 kids down there. Luckily enough I'm a skinny enough dude to fit down there toowow lol musta been a pretty skinny dude/tte!!
WOW, that looks like it'll serve you nicely if you can disguise the entrance and keep it secret, I can already hear the "where's daddy gone mummy? LMFAO. Is there anywhere you can vent from/to though? my 2nd grow was in a basement, but I was clueless back then and thought using mylar was the way to go, temps were good with lights on, but humidity was uncontrollable. You'll be fine in tents and with good air movement.Figured out the first molemans use for the secret room. It was a dark room. View attachment 4019332 View attachment 4019335

Hhahaha......sorry for dropping it in like that, I've read about it on many occasions , but it's like 'Teaming with nutrients', the chemistry(and biology) of it all really baffles me. AND without actually getting a soil test done in a professional lab(fecking expensive here), it's a totally moot subject, I suppose. I admit to being totally out of my depth when it comes to what's going on at those levels and still find it hard not to have a 'feed the plant' mentality, when my soil ain't doing the job for me.I did kinda warn him ... I see you think not enough though LOL

Of course you're right to say that the environment must be microbe-friendly to even allow them to get established. And we want that right away, not sometime in the near or distant future when it will, inevitably, get there through succession if we just let it do its own thing. So I definitely agree it is a bit of a chicken-and-egg dilemma in that respect. Overall however, I insist that the chemical signs we have deemed to be relevant are but shadow puppetry, and the real action is going on behind that screen

In fact, it is already begun, as I could not bring myself to take the pot I just harvested the Pineapple Express from apart, destroying, once again, a whole ecosystem...
Where I had found practically dead conditions when it had run dry previously, a mushroom has sprouted from the top soil too now, so I just had to see what was going on. And lo, nutrient cycling is back, with bacterial nematodes and a beginning herd of flagellates reappearing, along with some fungal strands.
So, since I still have the deadnettle and the borage rooted in there, I am going to be topdressing that soil with VC along with some foods I still need to think about See where it goes from there, and then decide whether I want to risk another round in it...
With a big caveat however, as I was annoyed to find this morning.
Thing is, I still have tons of questions regarding the assessment methodology. From taking the soil to mixing the samples to counting the microbe masses, I keep running into situations I'm not sure how to deal with - I'll spare you the gory details haha fact is that I need to check back with Elaine on those and it's going to be a month or two before her next Q&A So for the moment, I am getting my results but they have a big "is this really correct?" sign hanging over them, along with the fact that I am learning so exponentially at the mo that my time-course results are probably going to be marred by my changing degree of expertise too. Actually measuring those microbes is so much more exacting than just getting a general impression based on what the sample looks like and the critters encountered!
But got to practice on something, and for that, that pot soil, with those happy campers already in there and maybe even keeping a mycorrhizal network alive is just good enough!
Cheers!
looks very happy................I'm round your way all day tomorrow for an Ipaf course, It finishes around 4.30pm so I could call round after that if you're available, drop the tube off and pick up the Ally and the cut. (you can have the tube for your spare aluminium, don't think I'll ever use it again and I've still got 2 to play with, if required)
Do you just wanna give me a ring tomorrow bro. Dunno if you saved my number like but can always drop it you again if needs be. I'm still between both places at the minute tryna get shit done. Can't wait for this week to be over. Feel like nutting a wall hard and repeatedly haha.looks very happy................I'm round your way all day tomorrow for an Ipaf course, It finishes around 4.30pm so I could call round after that if you're available, drop the tube off and pick up the Ally and the cut.
