Is anyone else "obsessed" with growing?

I was thinking lately, wondering if anyone else is as obsessed with growing their plants as I am. Wanting to go check on them every hour..... Thinking about those beautiful thick sparkling buds when your away.....constantly nurturing them any way you can...always researching ways to improve your ladies? Praying nothing bad happens to them??

Am I alone? :weed:

Yes! That's exactly how I feel! I've been doing it for awhile, but I never get tired of seeing seeds sprout, beautiful lush vegging plants, and fat, oozy, ripe flowers! I'm starting over due to a recent setback, and for the 10 days I went without plants to care for, I was very depressed. I don't have any flowers to look at right now, so I have to cruise the web for "bud porn", but my babies are growing!

I used to feel that way. Now, the less I have to look at those fuckers until harvest, the happier I am. I'm still messing with them way more than I'd like to (coco/perlite + hand watering).

For me, I just want bud. The grow is an annoying and long process that I must endure to get there. The more I look, the longer it seems to take. My plants usually don't look very happy. Big surprise, eh?

If I had a reliable hookup over long periods of time, I wouldn't even bother growing. It took me only a year of growing to start feeling this way.

Having said all of that, I'll be smoking my own weed for the foreseeable future and that's pretty fucking cool!

I WISH that's how I felt about it! My weed is probably much harsher than yours!

When you put it like that, I agree that there is also allot of stress involved

My plants are my stress relievers! I have a big complicated family that stresses me to the max, but when I'm in my grow room, I don't want to leave. They practically have to drag me out of there. It fulfills me in a way I can't even explain. I develop an emotional attachment to my plants. When I had to kill them all to evacuate from the storm it felt almost like shooting my dog....well, not quite, but it was bad. I had been running the same clones for awhile, and it broke my heart to lose them I guess I'm a weirdo, but I'm a happy weirdo as long as I have my plants and my animals.

That's actually very cool! I hope I'm able to feel more that way with my plants once it becomes legal to grow for personal use here. Finally Canada!

I have been at it too long to feel obsessed.
That being said my strains are part of my family
SO maybe I am blind to my obsession?
however I am verging on obsession in regards to my new vermicompost, cann't seem to leave those little guys alone, I am always digging them up and handling them.
I also named them.
They are collectively know as Harold.

This is when shit happens... Many a plant has been loved to death.
The less you need to interact with the plants the better.

I personally take care of 1,000+ plants. Hand watered (personally), every single one. I hold each dear, an intimately personal relationship with each. Though I do my best to maintain a “uniform” schedule, there are those that need individual attention. I do have help with potting, takedown, “cleanup”, and the like, I micromanage that which is not “hands on”.

All legal, about to “upgrade” to 10’s of K’s, the same care will be given to each.

This is 24/7 day’s a week. I personally spend 80+ hours a week in my grows. There are times where I sleep on location for multiple day trims (usually 3 hour power naps over several days/weeks). OCD as it gets.

I think being "obsessed" with plants is a advantageous survival trait that is passed on genetically. Not long ago being obsessed with plants meant a better chance of survival. That "satisfaction of being with plants" feeling is a reward mechanism. It keeps you coming back.
