Sorry it's been a while since the last update. Been busy plus their hasn't been much happening since they're still young.
Don't know if I already said it but I ended up with 10 Alien rifts, 11 Malibu pies and 5 BX's (not including the one older BX plant)
It's roughly day 20 for my 26 young plants and right around 7 weeks for BX#1.
BX#1 spent a couple weeks not doing much of any growing, I changed every variable you could imagine with it always remaining droopy. I ended up transplanting it from a 3 gallon pot to 7 gallons, the roots were plentiful and healthy, not what I would consider rootbound but ever since transplanting it started growing again.
So needless to say she looks a little rough but she's on her way back.
Also, I separated her into her own tent a couple weeks ago when she was acting funny because of the possibility of pests.
I was suspecting broad mites, have been scoping a few times a week and found some thrips today. I happened to have started spraying her with neem oil yesterday though so it will work out, they should be gone within a couple weeks.
Yesterday I fired up all 3 lights for the first time and am running that now. Temp on my meters says it's getting up to 84 but the alien rift is showing some heat stress, malibu pie and BX are seeming fine with temps though.
I'm sure it can't be the light because my lights for the most part have been 3 plus feet away from the plants. Today i just dropped them to 28 inches, I have my a/c on high to try keeping temps down.
Looks like as long as it remains in the 70s and 80s outside I'll have to run that on high with temps peaking around 82 to 84.
I'm guessing once winter hits I won't need an a/c period. If anything I'll need a heater.
I've been trying to keep rh around 60%. It fluctuates between 55 and 65 percent.
It has taken 2 evaporative humidifiers (combined advertisement of 4200 sq ft) and 2 cool mist humidifiers to be able to control my humidity, 9.5x9 room. Was a bit of a pain getting that dialed in.
-8,000 btu a/c
-70 pint dehumidifier
-6"inline intake
-8"inline exhaust
My #3 alien rift and #3 malibu pie are looking to be the ones to watch, nice structure, short branchy, hopefully they are girls.
Also all nutrients from here on out I've switched to Organicare, by Botanicare. Come flowering I will still supplement atleast rock solid by growth science(bloom booster) because I used it on my last grow(first indoor grow) and considering how rough it was for the plants I still ended with some really large and dense rock solid buds. I have a couple others, bud candy and overdrive, by advanced nutrients that I may use too. Will be in small amounts though, just want to supplement a bit.
I've also been thinking about adding my 600 hps for flowering too. Many claim the key to be using hps and cmh side by side. I'm thinking about running, from left to right;
-315cmh-de630cmh-600hps-315cmh-
I think that would offer quite the mixture, seeing how buds turn out directly under the 315vs315/630vs630/600vs600/315.
A bit of a lengthy update but that's the fill. They should be more frequent from here on out.
Edit: I'm trying to post more pics but for whatever reason, after that first they won't load. I'll try to get some more pics up tonight.
