DIY with Quantum Boards

Here is my math on this. If yours is better please post it.

LX x .014505 = umol
umols / 1,000,000 = mols
Mols x 60 x 60 x 24 = mols a day

An example

33781 lux × .014505 = 490 umols

490 uMols = .00049 Mols (umols / 1,000,000)

.00049 Mols x 60 seconds = .0294 (a minute)
.0294 x 60 minutes = 1.764 (an hour)
1.764 x 24 hours = 42.056 mols (a day)

So if you are shooting for 38 mols a day you run your light for 20 hours

This is the part that may need tweeking.

LX x .014505 = umol

Im not sure .014505 is the right number. Someone gave it to me

Do a par test .......

Any1 building or lighting with a qb120 board need to check out this little driver. Up to 75watts, 90% effecient, dimmable, cooler to the touch than the qb120 they are driving, and $12.80 b4 any discount at arrow. U will need a multimeter or killawatt so u don't overdrive. At 20.43v, it's lighting with just 28ma/0.57watts. At 24.67v, it's pulling 2.45A/60.44watts. I e-mailed HLG and was told not to push more than 72watts per board(at board level). At 60watts the board is measuring 25 degrees warmer than the driver. Each at their hottest point.
I dont see anywhere on the data sheet that says constant current driver

I've set up my 320w kit but it isn't powering on. Did I mess up somewhere?
I hear a little click in the driver when plug in but no lights.

Neither is my ELG-240-24 that I have driving 4 qb120s in parallel. I e-mailed HLG & they said it was all good. CC or cv shouldn't really matter since the LRS-75 is only driving 1 board. Should it? U can only wire a single qb120 one way. They have 2 Molex but they are shared. So it's really just 1- & 1+. Amps come up as I pick up Voltage. Those numbers were after the board warmed up. And they haven't fluctuated either. Edit: My bad. My ELG-240-24 is both cc & cv.

Hey guys just received my QB135. I have a mars hydro 300 in the tent now in week 2 of flowering. I was thinking of switching the lights now. Would anything happen to the plants?
It may take the plant a few days to get used to the different spectrum and intensity. But your going to see better results at the end so I wouldn't hold off swapping due to a "possible" stall that might not happen.
Monitor your temps once you swap them and dim if you find you need to. Start higher with the QB and lower it a little bit at a time so you can find that sweet spot.

Have you flowered with your mars light previously? If so I would love to hear your opinions on difference once you have flowered with the QBs. :bigjoint:

No this is my first time using the mars for flowering. I think it did pretty good during veg. Just heard alot of opinions saying it wont do very well in flowering. Heard a bunch of good things on the qb, so i went ahead and got one 8-)

Ah well, would of been nice to hear the difference from the horses mouth.

Your going to be a happy grower with the QB for sure. :bigjoint:
