Evening fellas. Some more updated pics as of this late evening. Oh, by any chance does anyone know why one of the colas, has a odd side bud growing from the side??? Picture #1 & #2 shows a mini growth of an additional bud. Please assist me to understand what is happening. I've never seen this before

The bud growth your speaking of is called fox tailing.

Genetics plays a role in this in some occasions, but since its only on a couple buds we can assume it's being caused by environmental factors.

The most common causes of this are heat and/or light stress.

Are these buds closest to the light?
Do they happen to be in an exceptionally warm area of the tent?

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head!

Your bud looks almost done so don't worry about it.

I didn't think my baby AK would stretch as much as she did. Yes, it tends to get very cold in the room, so I blast the space heater whenever I'm home and the light itself give off a lot of heat. I never thought I'd run into foxtailing. It never came across my mind. I really appreciate the help!

I shall be vegging the next baby under the LED but I will be upgrading to a new light for the flowering. The LED did good but I think I'll get a MIGRO 200 Nothing but great reviews and awesome customer service when I ask a question. They post very helpful youtube videos related to the public's questions and challenge other types of lighting. Honestly, I'm stuck between a 315w CMH and the MIGRO 200

I had checked the trichomes, more than 3/4 of lady AK is cloudy. As for the amber-ness, it's still the same. I think it'll be fine. I shall be definitely chopping Saturday on my day off!

I have some pretty noticeable fox tailing going on in my crop right now too, so let's just say I am freshly brushed up on it.

I also underestimated stretch haha, my babies tripled in size.

As for the Migro... I would suggest passing up on it, it's a 200 watt cob fixture for 650 bucks, I just built a 600w led light for about that price.
I wouldn't go with a CMH, or if your up for it you should build your own led light. There's some great people here who could offer some help with that too.
I'm not saying the migro is bad, just overpriced.

Anyways your doing good, crop looks good, you must be excited to get that into the jars!

Looking great pee you this is mine day 53 since flip, rock solid fox tailed buds natural foxtails, the buds everywhere are so big and heavy, I have 9 multi strains under a 1000watt but this AK gonna be a great yielder considering theres 9 plants under 1 light, gorgeous

The best bang for your buck is with the Bridgelux Eb Strips, they do not require heatsinks which keeps cost down.
Check out the "Bridgelux Eb series build" thread in the led section.

But CMH is another very good option, has an excellent spectrum and doesn't put off as much heat as HPS.

I went LED because I had temps in the high 80s and was worried a cmh wouldn't drop it enough.
HPS to led dropped my temps over 10 degrees, that alone was worth it to me.
But the other side of it is now I have to learn how led affects the plants, its not hot but still cannot be too close. The old use your hand to see if the lights too close doesn't work.
Also they require more cal mag under led lighting.
Just a learning curve but I am happy.

Looking great my Ak is day 58 and she's starting to turn purple, she smells amazing I really think it might be cherry pheno it smells like you just changed a nappy but with a sweet kick too maybe cherry, or it might just be me thinking cherry coz I know about the cherry pheno

Evening fellas! Bully!!! Now that's going to be a heavy harvest! I apologize for the late update but I have a bit of disappointing news

So I harvested Saturday into Sunday early morning. The buds were stinking the house of a heavy sweet dank fragrance. My relatives walking out of their rooms, said it smelled strongly of fresh picked flowers and good weed??? I definitely agree of the fresh flower! The skunk is faint but comes out every now and then you go walk near the drying rack.

I must say... I believe the light was the main issue. I only say that as I had alot of airy popcorn buds and the main buds weren't as dense or big as I was anticipating. Many factors I have considered that can be improved. I will be changing out my light to a CMH by middle of December and many, many more things.

Learned more than I expected. I've decided there will be no more soil grows. I will be changing everything. It is what it is

So much popcorn buds it's unbelievable. I ended up tossing it all in with the trim and counted only the solid buds imo were good. Long, dense colas that shine like glitter when the light hits the buds when I was trimming. Dried out to 4 zips and a half of buds. Threw them all in jars and the curing began yesterday. The scent is very faint and the buds have lost alot of water weight from when I was trimming.

The buds are so frosty, I couldn't resist trying out a non-cured, dried popcorn bud... ... ... ... ... ...

HOLY SHEIT felt a tingle behind my eyes. I got up; began walking around the apartment picking up things, cleaning the dishes, bathroom, prepping for work in the morning and then asked myself am I high?... Nooo, I'm anticipating a crazy head rush that'll knock me on my ass and I'd be in a comatose state. Boyyyyy was I wrong! I usually save cleaning for the weekend and for me to do that is rare. I went to lay down and fml i began zoning out with nothing but clear thoughts. My temporal lobes began buzzing as I was staring at the wall instead of the movie that was playing. As I continued asking myself is this good bud, my eyes began throbbing. I couldn't even keep my eyes focused on the tv. I began to lose grip of my thoughts and was kind of freaking out Paranoia did set in unfortunately. I got to say it was definitely good ride! Reminds me of being a young teenager trying weed for the first time

I may not have achieved what I was hoping for but the sour turbo will be even better as I'll be implementing the changes I've decided were nothing but a waste of time imo. The final smoke report will come soon once the buds are cured. I had taken a few flicks while trimming & jarring. Hope you guys like! Stay tune!

I have grown ak47 many many many times. It is a favourite of mine and i suspect youll love it.
That strain "foxtails" all the time. It is not a reaction to stress. It is genetics. In fact, if youre ak47 doesnt foxtail then it hasnt reached maturity. Or its not true ak47.
Some think fox tailing is bad.
I think its just extra sweet bud.

my ak47 x lowryder auto did the same thing with the 2 foxtails lol, lack of light i think
