You must have missed them before, because those calyxes in the "armpits" are the first to develop on the plant. .t's where you look for the gender of your plant. Although mostly when you grow from regular (non fem) seeds.

You're most likely right.
I knew that wheb theres a hair in the airpits its a female but missed the "balls" part. My bad.

Update time :)
Day 37 from flip.

Plants are bulking up. Seams pretty slow but hey, its always like that when you check out on them couple times a day

I dropped nute concentration even further to 1300 PPM. Temps at day stay @25-26*C and 18-19*C at night. RH@~65%. Rez temps are 19-21*C
Lights are set up @800W . Upper right corner looks a bit stressed cause of that but the rest looks fairly relaxed so will keep it like that.

Plant that started with what looked like a virus (upper left corner) is a head of the rest by couple of days which is a bit of supprise to me.
Bottom left corner is very lanky and isn't bulking up as fast as the others.

So now cause theres not much to do do in the garden I'm sitting home thinking what I'll do next run. So most likely I'll be increasing number of plants from 6 to 8 and veg less time. Potting them in fabric pots which will give me ~10cm more head room. Air pots are tall and if I can increase plant hight without getting bigger tent thats a winner in my book. The ones I use are 30cm on width and 34cm on height and I'm thinking to switch to square Plan!t Dirtpots 27x27x25cm.

Want to try tupur but its not easily available so Iwould have to mix my own.
Anybody would be able to point me out in the right direction here >>>> http://rollitup.org/t/mixing-my-own-tupur-need-help.953527/
If I won't be able to mix something close to tupur I'll just use Light Mix from Biobizz.

I think I'll give mycos a go and I'm still reading about the silica.
Boy, this is best hobby I've ever had! Learnt so much over last two years and there is still so much to learn :weed:

Ok enough talking. Few shots from today.

Day 50 from flip.

Two plants still bulking up, but most look like they stopped :(
Upper level looks ahead of the bottom probably due to temp difference and getting oxygenated water.

Not much to add really.
What's the temp difference between the two?
And how come that one is getting oxygenated and the other not?

Thanks!

Update.
Day 56 or 57. Lost the count :P

I did it! I boiled the roots the first time ever
Only on the top row tho as it looks about ready and I am leaving the bottom the way it is. I will TRY to see and feel the difference, but don't hold Your breath. I'm not good at this :P

What I can say now is that I'm not too happy about plant structure. Plany of rock hard but popcorn galore that will be nightmare to trim.
They look frosty and got some nice purple colour. Smell is still changing. From full on pine to a bit more berry/fruity with a hint of dirt.

Scheduled cut 19th Dec.

So can any expirienced grower chime in why they didn't bulk up and packed as much ?
Too many bud sites?
Too cold temps ?
I know I've fed them too strong mix for a while but I don't think they got any nute lock.
Plants looked healthy throughout with slight tip burns and deficiency on only one plant that I got sorted quickly.

Would like to hear any opinion on that as I would want to improve quality on next round.

As far as quality you won't know nadda till ya chop'em and smoke'em.Those may be some of the dopest dope ya ever smoke....they may be below your expectations. They are stunning ladies as far as looks....but looks don't mean nuttin.

Are you planning on trying to relocate the scrubber out of the tent?I would think doing things the same you did on this run without the scrubber and a third row added would pack da shit out of that tent.

Yep, You are absolutely right. I know looks is one and smoke is completly different thing. I'll guess I will have to wait and see/try.

Not sure I'll be moving the scrubber yet. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to do it. Maybe I'll just buy a tote put it at the top, cut out a hole and stitch/glue the fabric of the tent to it. I wan't to iron out couple different things first before I'll touch the filter. I can do that later, even middle of next run. Couse of the smaller pots (height and width) , I'll be able to keep the plants a bit further away from the lights (and scrubber) allowing for more uniform light coverage and more plant surface if I move the crubber. I am hopping to shorten veg time as well with more plants.
As for packing the tent I dececided to try different approach first, before adding the third row. If that wont work then third row it is. Heath Robinson style :D
I'm going to add 4 more pots, going from 6 to 10.
Keep them as long as it needs to fill half the space before flip. I switched those too early, I panicked :P
That run didn't go the the plan, but I know what I did wrong and were to improve. I can defo see the potential here and only need to adjust couple of things.

Hope it makes sense

Top your plants and clean them up inside to reduce popcorn. Limit the number of side branches. Do this in veg, then flip.

Check that bad boy out. costs the same as a unit that only controls a fan and a heater.
You can just keep hooking up environmental control hardware to it as you expand your toys.

There is a faceplate that box plugs into, just download the datasheet to find it.

Thats what I did this run already. Limit the number of main branches from 30 to ~10  Still the same problem. Its hard to menage the plants w/o trellis. Still thinking about adding that to the room.
I want to try Uncle Ben topping technique next and limit the main branches to only 4. Would make menaging the plants a lot easier. Will add another 2 fans (one each side) to increase the area of air that is moved in front of the plants.
Will see how it goes.
Thanks for all the tips :)

I was thinking to add something like that already. I could wire in that hygrostat to small fan blowing at the surface of the water in one of the res (most likely the one cooling lights) to increase humidity if needed. It would only be usefull in veg as when the plants are bigger I am batteling opposote problem. Too much RH.
Thank You for posting it. I will defo look into that again. This and a VPD chart would make for more consistant results throughout a year. It would be very usefull addition to the my (any) tent :)

I looked through what felt like tonnes of controllers before I found one that can do temp up and down as well as humidity up and down independently.
I was impressed seeing it costs the same as units with only heater and fan control. Also a very good European brand. Not sure if they make a 110V version. Check amazon, I have seen them on there.

Big lights = big buds. And the closer you can get them to those lights without burning, the better the result.

But genetics plays a part, as does environment. Branch pruning has been mentioned, but if I'm totally honest, I would ditch the hybrid system and go straight hydro.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but your present system could be converted so easily to a coco run-to-waste system.

Your pots and mine are about the same size. I'm running 480w - may a little bit more (as the HLG drivers can deliver a bit more than advertised). You're running 600w, I believe.

If you're happy with your present set-up, then please, just ignore what I say. It's not a bad system at all. But, with just a few tweaks . . . you could fill that grow tent in no time.

Naah, all good mate. I don't mind You trying to swing me in the better (maybe) direction :)
I run them @800W now and theres still about 150W+ to spare. I got my light coverage calculated to be spot on @11" inches from the plants. The rest is done with intensity.

I've heard the hydro gives inconsisrent results and that +the 24/7 noise puts me off. And the runoff in RTW. How much runoff You get weakly ?
Have You got any grow thread I could read?

There's almost no noise, and hydro will produce much more consistent results than soil. You can even go organic hydro, like I do.

I've started my first LED grow here: https://www.rollitup.org/t/strip-leds-in-the-garden-of-paradise.954799/

I had a grow thread on here from a few years back detailing my old 1200w HPS vertical set-up that used to produce 3.5-4lb from a 4x4 space: https://www.rollitup.org/t/haze-harvest-a-few-pounds-of-1200w-vertical-weed.668796/

I'm using the same coco run-to-waste system, but this time in a 4'x2' horizontal LED set-up, as I'm limited on space. So far I've been impressed with the LEDs.

In fact, I seriously underestimated how much they would grow when I flipped them to 12/12. I had six plants I started off slowly on a weak, hand-watered nutrient solution that were flipped at three weeks, but I also had two more plants that were started a week later and fed a little stronger that were flipped at two weeks. That's the seedling in the photo above, and it's also the plant on the far right-hand-side of the other photos (there's another one behind it that was also flipped at two weeks).

Once all those plants went into the auto-feeding system, they went mental.

The way I figure it mate, you've spent so much time and effort building your system already, all you'd need to do is fill those pots with coco, run an automatic drip feeder, collect the waste in the channels below, and your results would be right up there. No more guessing how much nutrient is in your soilless pots and how much more (and what) to feed them.

But again, if you want to do something different, there's nothing wrong with your present set-up. It's all about what you want to achieve. I'm just happy to help if you want to go down a different path :)
