And in typical Republican fashion, Pedo Moore is refusing to concede. What a loser. - He's calling for a recount, even though state law states an automatic recount occurs when the race is within a half percent. He is losing by roughly 2%. - He refuses to take no for answer, just like he does with his 14 year old girlfriends he meets at the mall.

You posted that in the other thread already thai-stick.
Yep. Sure did.

Credit where it's due.

And all the recognition they deserve.

There's only half a dozen threads on the same race, sooooo tell me about who's spamming.

Thank black women for their contribution to Doug Jones' victory.

Here's how ;

Seems odd that the person posting the above across multiple threads is also the person who insists that black people should put their issues on the back burner until economic problems are resolved and says that some problems due to racism would go away if only we stopped talking about racism.

On the other hand, what's not to agree with what Kamala Harris says in that article:

we need to do more than congratulate them. “Let’s address issues that disproportionately affect Black women—like pay disparity, housing & under-representation in elected office,”

So, yeah lets celebrate their contribution by placing a high priority on the issues that affect black women.

Isn't it odd that we are celebrating the contribution that black women gave to the win when black men showed up and delivered nearly the same contribution as women did?

Black women, 17% of the overall vote, 97% for Jones
Black men, 11% of the overall vote, 93% for Jones

Are we seeing the manifestation of stereotypes here?

As great as this makes us feel, in two years Jones will be a footnote. This was a special election after all. Surely those guys would not run someone this bad again.

Not sure where I heard it, but on the radio. The news reader was pointing out that Moore was trying to sleep with teens in the 70's. It was a different world then, but 14 is kind of young, even for Alabama.

You have an excellent point here. Black men did their part too.

14 was apparently not too young for a solid majority of white Alabamans, be they male or female.

It all depends on how well he does his job of convincing his base that he will speak for them and their issues in Washington DC.

He will never convince them all, but if he's good, he just might be able to convince more of them than the putative Republican opponent.

He will need to connect with voters and hammer away at the issues. It's his only hope of overcoming the scarlet letter D in Alabama.

I believe that spending a lot of time in inner urban AND rural Alabama in front of both white and black constituents is his best chance of doing that.
