I think, if you’re really set on crazy time signatures, that you should roll with gaslight timing. I can’t imagine 1/1 on repeat would do any good for you.
Or COBs or QBs. At least he would have efficiency and power and not look silly. If you so worried about the cost of running lights maybe you should look into growing mushrooms.
I'd love to know any kind of flowering plant that wouldn't die on that schedule because it simply does not exist in nature.I think, if you’re really set on crazy time signatures, that you should roll with gaslight timing. I can’t imagine 1/1 on repeat would do any good for you.
Didn't he say he had boards earlier?Or COBs or QBs. At least he would have efficiency and power and not look silly.
Yep the Gas Lamp method. Works well. Good call. You can check out the gaslantern routine: 12h on, 5.5 off, 1 on, 5.5 off. Theres loads of opinions on this varying between: it will f-up your plants for sure; to: it will make your plants show sex early and make the transition to flower faster. YMMV
1 on, 1 off sounds a bit daft; the plants need time to shift between day and night.
I just assumed if he was worried about electricity, he was running HIDs.Didn't he say he had boards earlier?
No idea how many or what power, or what the other electrical use in his place is, but he doesn't seem to be able to grasp that 12 hours of, say, 100 watts load is, at the impossible end of the scale thanks to surges, 12 hours of 100w load whether that is over one 12 hour period or split into chunks an hour long.
He's going to find out though, as well as find out it's going to cost him a hell of a lot more due to his lights and probably his plants dying early
I looked back, third post in he said he's using boards.I just assumed if he was worried about electricity, he was running HIDs.
Tried 1/1 though? It's the dogs bollocks, it'll save you money....This is too easy.
I run 16/8 for veg
And 10/14 for flower.
No difference in yield or size or in any way from 18/6 and 12/12
In fact... i plan to go 9/15 for flower for next run .
Or he just shouldn’t grow. Either commit to it or don’t. His prerogative, really.I looked back, third post in he said he's using boards.
He doesn't say what size, how many or anything, so I suspect he'd be better cutting the likes of his heating use in the rest of the house
Here in Belgium, electricity is not cheap either, over double the cost I see for the us which is a bitch. Luckily my missus is more disabled than me which means we get a "capped" price closer to us prices, and possibly lower than some.
If he wants to save money then maybe he should cut off a leg instead..
Indeed.Or he just shouldn’t grow. Either commit to it or don’t. His prerogative, really.
Yea its called the "i fucked up royal tech"Isn't there a technique for making s1's by altering the veg light cycle? Then when you flip, the plant is supposed to be stressed from the altered light schedule and self pollinates.
Regarding costs, here in where I live a "regular" person, not one who is classed as "protected" due to disability/age/low income/etc, on a single tariff meter will pay approximately €0.28 per kwh including distribution costs and tax, or $0.33 per kwh. So that's almost $4 per day for a 1kw load on 12/12. People like myself who get the "sociaal tarief", those who are "protected", pay just over half that.If you invested the money in qb's amd you still need to cut corners ive got questions... like.. are the qbs even helping you vs the normal 1kw hps? Are you trying to mask your power use hours from the power company?
If this is a personal grow the lights arnt costing more than $50 a month to run, so even if you cut it in half your only saving 25 bucks, aka a joke.
Maybe invest in solar panels an or wind turbines, shits actually pretty cheap, if your not on a personal scale and i cant imagin you are if your willing to trying something thats, in my opinion, really fucking dumb like 1 on 1 off.
I'm not sure they would because they would be in a perpetual state of confusion, they wouldn't know what was going on and would shut down completely.I think it would live cause plants are tough but that doesnt mean it will like it
