heres some thoughts for you.
first off the hlg 300 is a prebuilt fixture hlg sells which is nice but they also have a diy kit in the same wide configuration. https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/diy/products/260w-xw-qb-led-kit
whats nice about the kit is it includes everything you need to assemble except rope ratchets and tools. and as far as I can recall the tools needed were a phillips head screwdriver to mount the boards to the heatsink and wire strippers to cut and strip the wire for the hookup. now currently as of writing this hlg shows out of stock but no biggie they also distribute to https://growerslights.com/products/...w-quantum-board-led-kit?variant=2764371197980 and thru them for $25 more ya dont need the tools cause they will build it and test it b4 shipping to you.
as for your crees thats up to you if you can find a buyer.
I myself have 2 of these kits https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/diy/products/260w-qb-led-kit which was their first 2 QB kit I ordered back in may 2017 they didnt offer the wide 2 board kit yet. I had originally planned to run 3 tents 2 4x4 for flower and a 3x3 for veg. but reality set in when I realized I currently had the space for a 3x3 tent only and Im barely fitting that in. so in the 3x3 i am using the 2 kits and at lowest output on the 4 boards plus a 2 30w secret jardin fans one blowing up from the center floor and another hanging in a corner on a pole blowing across the fins of the heatsink. and im at 296watts according to the kill a watt and my temps in the tent dont exceed 84. I cant run at full power cause it drives the temps up to the mid 90's, and from the grows guys are doing with the QB's many are not running full blast and are getting great results.
still I would be very interested to see how you do with them.
well its the drivers that will run the ac not the dealer. and the meanwell drivers are rated at input 90VAC to 305VAC so put your NZ plug on it and dont worry. infact mention to them where its going and they might supply the plug

What is the price of aluminum at home depot? I may pick some up.
All I could find there was 8ft pieces that were around $15 each. I'm sure better options are available somewhere, but that was what they had and I got it because I was there.
I see a lot of people running 2 qb288 boards on a HLG-240H-C2100 driver, and am wondering how well that setup works compared to the same boards using a HLG-320H-C2100 driver assuming they are run at max.
Lowes stock is half of Home Depot also !!Lowes is like $25 for 1/2x1/2x1/8 for 8 foot
320 will give you nothing more than the 240H when running two boards. the boards will draw the exact same amount of power from each, according to their forward voltage. The chart shows power draw at each forward voltage and amperage.

Ok, I got the 320 because they were recommended. Is there any advantage going this route? What if I run 3 boards per driver?
what is the problem lately with boards being available but not heatsinks? Isn't about time these supply problems ended? I'm a big fan of HLG and their products, but its long past time for these issues to be resolved, the continuing out of stock issues have become cause for many people who would buy to look elsewhere. WE are the people who got you off the ground, time to reward us with reasonable supply availability. I've built a business from scratch on a budget, I know it isn't easy. Maintaining inventory is critical to continued success.

Ive been running 16 Cree 3590s in a 4 x4 i.e 1.2metre x 1.2 metre x 2 metre high but i have always run duel layer, i.e i have a table mid height, 8 x 3590s driven at 50 watt each layer, i plant in a table only 15cm deep. top and bottom.
Im considering selling my lights and changing to 2 x HGL 300s.
my 3590s pull around 800 watts i imagine , 2 x hgl 300s would pull around 600 watts,
I keen on the low profile of the quantum boards and the weight reduction.
p.s i live in nz so if anyone wants the 3590s let me know in the next few days
thoughts?
I have the same tent and have been rolling this idea in my mind for a while now. It obviously increases workload and lowers the margin of error significantly. I have already done the split in my smaller 1m tent. Top are my mothers, bottom are vegging plants until ready for the 1.2m. I am also in the process of replacing the 3590s with QBs. At the moment it's 8x3590 and 2xQB304. Waiting on stock like everyone.
Making the change is a no brainer. You gain 10cm of height, at least, that's on each layer.
You might want to consider the new QB132 that's supposed to come back to stock soon. You'll save a lot of money. Just replace each 3590 with a QB132, no heat sink required, no new drivers required. I would personally add another 4 on each layer for a total of 600w. I have QB304 and you can pretty much run them all out as close 20cm from tops and you know you can run the 3590s @ 50w as close as 15cm, even less without reflectors. I imagine you'll have no problems with the QB132s.
An even better option is to go for QB120s. Run 8-10 x 60w-70w. You'll get better spread, still no heatsinks required but you'll have to get new drivers.
When the QBs came out I grabbed a few 304s. 2 of them are now in the bottom layet of my 1m tent. I only use it for veg but honestly it's too much. They are too intense for less then 1m headroom. And of course when I'm 6 weeks into veg and the tent is full, coverage suffers.
Strips are always an option, unless like me, I can't get reasonably priced aluminium channels for heatsinks.
Whatever route you take, mount the drivers outside the tent to lose height, weight and heat.
Hope that helps.
does the ac side of the driver have a green wire? usually the AC power side has a positive , negative and a earth, the out let to the LEDS just has 2 wires a positive and negative... thats normal and is fine..I have a qb132 3500k and a single meanwell lpv-60-24 driver. The driver does not have a grounding cable\port on it. So does this indicate that I only need a two prong cable without grounding?
