Beneficial microbes do not do that overnight, only if air was lost and then they would not cause that slime on your finger.
What else are you putting into your solution?

If thats all your using...ditch the airstones and air pump. You will make your pH rise as the oxygen reacts with the pH adjusters. And the air in general can cause wonky shit to happen. Canna even says no go with airstones in tanks.

That air pump is 253gph total, spread across 4 outlets = 253/4 =63.25 gph.
I have brewed guano tea in a dtw Resivior before with no issues. I wouldn't run a resivior with no air, like wtf good comes from standing water..
Resivior covered? Was it sterilized first with stones and hose's. The pH can rise from high Do. It will also bottom out from lack of Do.

If I had to guess about the bio-sludge. Reaction that quick is a contamination or chemical precipitation.

Mix some in a glass and see if it reacts the same way.

Yes I have a lid

And sterilized a few weeks ago and haven't used it.

I dumped about 3/4 cup of pool shock powder in the res...

Tell me that it's not sterile in an hour lol

Like I said up there I run almost 1000 gph pumps into koi pond stones in a 25g res with 0 issue. This makes me think of the slime you get using lemon juice or other sheet like vinegar for pH adjustment.

I haven't used any ph adjustment as the ph came out perfect 6 and is still at 6

Change out the res. Make it exact same just ditch the air pump and air stone for 24 to 36 hours. Then check if you got gypsum or brown sludge. Just try it. And then get back to us. What is your starting water EC & pH???

I mean I would dump it out as well clean and rise it good then refill with base first, wait add Rhizo, wait add boost and see which one is doing this sheet. I can't in good faith recommend no air /circulation. But im with ya on the reset ;-)
