67% of Americans want to ban assault weapons

Yup, that way the criminals are the only ones with guns capable of "rapid fire" (as you snowflakes call it). Cause you know there wouldn't be a massive underground market for semi-automatic weapons or anything.

Plan seems flawless guys, make a petition my name is going on it!

But you are not a conservative. Lol, triggered much? As far as the suicide goes, great, cutting down the suicide rate would be nice too - but don't let that stop you, twopump.

Sounds like you have a mental problem. Pretty much any caliber can solve that.
"I want to commit suicide but semi-automatic guns are banned now, how will I possibly do it?!?!"

Logical. Since it clearly matters a lot to you guys to know my political stance, I'm a libertarian. I think conservatives and liberals are both stupid on half their views.

A revolver. They are more reliable that semi-automatics and I want you to succeed. If you do it right you only need the first shot anyway.

I just find it funny. Alcohol is responsible for almost 10x as many deaths as guns, but hey you like alcohol so no issue there. But I see other people pissed off at guns, and I don't care about guns so... colour me triggered!

You want to ban alcohol too? That's killed almost 10x as many people as guns this year. How about tobacco? That kills 25x people than guns. But you're still shaking your fists at guns.

Abortion has killed over 160K this year, but are you shaking your fists at that? Sounds like a lot of children dying to me. But, we point our finger at guns. --- Side note, I'm pro-abortion, I'm just showing you how fucking ignorant you all are.

That is exactly my point, how will banning semi-auto guns decrease the suicide rate in any way then? I'm glad you're starting to see the light brother.

"On this episode of I know nothing about guns"
So, I get it. You are against doing anything. It's too late for that. Clearly gun owners like you don't care. I think gun owners could have taken ownership of gun violence and done a great job to bring the gun homicides down to the level of other nations. But you won't. And so, you won't like what finally becomes law. Too bad, you had your chance and muffed it.

Take a look at Canada's gun control system. It's not too different from what I've proposed and it works. One difference is, semiautomatics are not restricted in most cases but clips and capacity are limited to 5 rounds. Any clip capable of holding more than five rounds must be pinned to allow only five rounds. Sure criminals can probably find clips on the black market capable of more and they face stiff penalties if caught with one.

There would be no need to go door to door collecting guns. That's your fantasy. Time, attrition and the need to keep them hidden will erode the numbers and availability of those tools of ignorance. The goal isn't to ferret them out. The goal is reduce the rates of homicides by guns and keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them.

I'm open to your suggestions on what to do. All I hear from you is the standard old "nuh-uh". Those days are numbered.

I eschew firearms in favour of archery, however I’m not facing mentally unstable people with semi automatic weapons, if I was I’d make sure to vote the idiots (who take dollar from the Nazi Rifle Association) the fuck out

Decreasing the suicide rate is not my goal but denying gun sales to the mentally ill will probably decrease it. Too bad Trump signed a law to help the mentally ill get guns regardless of whether they want to commit suicide or a mass shooting.

But... decreasing the suicide rate will decrease gun deaths... so... what you're saying is if 10 kids commit suicide versus 10 kids getting shot by one person is less tragic? Since this is all about the kids of course.

Archery is great, I go bowfishing all the time. The NRA is a joke. It's just a profit bubble for some rich dudes. GOA is a much better organization.

A flint lock pistol would do the job just fine. You only need one round. I mean, how bad is your aim that you'd need a semi-automatic pistol?

Once again, you guys are reaffirming my point. 2/3 of gun deaths are from suicide. Every stat you see for gun deaths is greatly skewed. You take away semi-auto weapons and you're not even putting a dent in gun deaths, because the old single shot is still going to do the trick.

funny how they don't seem to have mental illness in nations with gun control
Every single one of those countries has significantly better health care than us. So I fully agree. They do a much better job of diagnosing & treating mental illness.

Maybe if you stop being angry for two seconds you can piece this together, I have faith in you
