I am trying to find a a timer that will "step" instead of dimming. I want every day to be three minutes shorter than the previous...

Would something like reflashing to homeassistant.io be easier to set custom schedules or can a Sonoff basic accomplish this, thanks all!!

Im kinda of interested myself and these are a ferk load cheaper than a 10v sunrise/sunset controller and way less time consuming than arduino....

yeah timer directioins are kinda vague without a device in front of you....

just picked up a Sonoff Dual and a single smart switch....

picked the dual up for the ground attachment, i will post once i see if a timer function will work thanks riu

The only issue I had in the past is that the server was not available for several hours because of security updates. You get a message when the server is down.
But the timers works even without server connection, they keep their programming even in the event of a power failure.
They even adapted themselves to the time change last weekend.
The loop timers are great for water pumps in hydro setups or for regular CO² release for instance. .

Thats great and all and im excited but that doesnt change the vagueness of the directions, and I have read what I can several times and the loop timers are a reallly nice feature, but i am still looking for for an answer to my original question @Randomblame...... can you stagger your off times by 3mins every day? kind of a half assed rise/set...

On/off has a limit. But you could use the loop timer to do what you want. And you can also add on/off timer to the loop cycle (no 24/7).

You can set as many timers as you want. I have stuff turn off and on several times a day. I updated the firmware before I used it. I have had zero problems with either for my tents. I just got another one today with temp/humi sensor.

Nope,
automatically 3mins less every day is impossible. You need to do it manually! That needs a much more complicated programming. But it's really don't needed to reduce daily. 20mins every week works the same...

Uhh... I don‘t know, but with my 4CH I reached a maximum in the past, and was not able to set it like I wanted.

I just checked with a buddy who uses a HurricaneX controller for his aquarium.
Even with an so-called aquarium/LED controller like the one above its not possible to set decreasing daylengths. You would have to program on-off times for each individual day.

And about timer-limits, as far as I know, at least 8 on and 8 off timings can be set per day per channel.

Yepp, with the loop timer probably but to be honest, I've not tried to set such a loop yet! The normal timer is limited to 8 or 10 on- and off times per day.

You can set the cycle time in hours and minutes. And you can set the delay time the same. So 2min every 5min seems possible (never tried myself). Last option to set is the starting point year:month:day:hour:minute

(I was wrong before, there is no timer to set for the loop, only the start)

Has anyone checked out the wireless dimmers for external dimming only (sorry) from Pacific lighting concepts. You can wirelessly dim any driver with external dimming hookup.
With an app like sonoffs. I'm gonna order a setup. See how it is.

That makes sense. I had 13 total functions. Not 13 individual operations. 8 on and 8 off is 16 functions. I had 13. It was like 6 ons and 7 offs.

The 16amp I believe is capable of running 3200 watts. So depending what size lights your running. You would need a few. But I doubt 1 per light.
