Well someone suggested it was time to let my other thread die and make a new one. I figured here is as good a place as any as I am growing indoors and always messing with different lights. I think there might be more traction and more HID love here. This is a personal grow for me, I'm a patient, and the recent planned changes are goal oriented towards lightening my work load. It's really that simple, so that's the motive with how my grow is getting setup "for me". I'm not asking for pity just keep that in mind in discussion.
Speaking of which, I encourage any and all discussion as long as it's kept civil. No religion, no politics, and no fanboy crap from anywhere on which lights to use. The bottom line is if you can grow what light you use is a matter of preference. Also not every grow setup is the same, I have found in my time growing this plant now that dialing in your environmental factors has much more to do with increasing yields than which type of light you're using. Shit I love my old Quantum Bad boy T5 and my 2x4 veg tent but that light did not make the move with me and is not the most efficient.
Anyways enough about particulars let's talk about growing, indoor, outdoor, veggies, fruits, I don't care I grow food for my family on a small scale as well and about to get going with this years setup. Wish mother winter would give it a rest already lol.
The outdoor will be a mix I come up with using whatever is on hand really, I'm big on as little waste as possible, all the dirt and promix from my winter growing went into the pots today. This year I snagged a couple of 65 gallon shorty pots from Grass Roots Fabric Pots. Hopefully this weekend I'll get the rest of the pots filled and water down with fish fert and toss down cover crop seeds. Will need to order some worms too. No final list yet but I have a six foot Sunflower I started from seed inside and a couple of my tomato seeds sprouted.
I have a 2x4 closet I am going to use again, got an Agrobrite 4 Bulb T5 for that spot. I will run my cloner in there when needed and I also ordered one of these kits to start veggies indoors:

So I shut down one of my tents for use as a dedicated grow space. I'm starting to roll into my perpetual so not as much of a need to go crazy growing. The other space is now my veg tent and my first hydro setup. My brother helped me and we built the stand and I plumbed everything. It's a recirculating top drip setup and the plants are in hydroton. I am absolutely loving this setup so far. I have never messed with hydro except for DTW coco and a few DWC buckets here and there. Very excited about this. I also took down the COB's and put up a 400W Eye Hortilux Blue MH in one of my Daystar hoods. This is my favorite light for veg (Blue MH). Temps dropped vs running the COB's at just over half the watts lol. People under estimate Air Cooled setups.
I have 3 gifted cuts in coco being hand watered I'm going to make them moms. Suzy Q, Blood Diamond, and Peach Puree. In the hydro pots I have (2) Dark Plasma Ocean Grown Seeds, (2) Jawa Pie Ocean Grown Seeds, and (4) Satori X GG#4 that I made here at home.
Then we have my Flower tent, which is on day 26 today of Flower for most of them. I have a 600w Eye Hortilux Super HPS on one side in a Raptor hood, and the other side is running (6) of the AutoCobs which are Citi 1812/3500K Single Engine Cobs that draw 59 watts at the wall on my Kill- A - Wattt meter.
Under the HPS I have one of my Dark Plasma Clones, my Jawa Pie, an Vienna Skunk (HSO), and one of my crosses Satori X Skywalker OG Auto (Mephisto). Under the LED there are 2 more Dark Plasma clones, another Vienna Skunk, and my Satori X GG#4.
I hung the HPS at about Day 14 would have to check my other log, under the same LEDS and fed the same the entire way, swapping the HPS in on one side was the only change. I just want to see how I do with each, and the next run will be better all clones, Blue MH for veg and then each light for the comparison in Flower.
I'm running 3 gallon pots of Promix in here (fabric pots). After this run I will be setting up a recirculating top feed like the veg tent for each tray in here, and I'm going to try #3 Plastic Pots full of hydroton and see what happens lol.
I think that covers everything. Feel free to ask questions. I know I could stuff more plants in here but this is how I like to grow plants. We will see when I switch the flower tent to hydro as it will take some vertical height away from me.
I'm not a pro grower, this May is 2 years but I do have experience with fruits and veggies. This will just be another journal of all my craziness and my transition to hydro. I cant wait to be topping off three reservoirs instead of hand watering everything.
