I hear ya on that I have hard pan an sand line right thur my land within 3 ft white sand or clay

I've been training them right out the gate. This way it's supporting the plant and making as many new shoots from the start so I can top them and have tons of colas in the end. I'm not done yet...still much to come :)

I gotta say I like the fact that it is visually pleasing. I know that's not a big deal but those planters are going to make those monster bushes look classy.

I hate the way the grow bags make my yard look in the summer.

Were working towards permanent raised beds.

a few however I started late due to the company sent me a few autos instead of photoperiod. So they got ripped out and replaced.
I will be growing in 400 gallons of amended black dirt above ground this year. I'm using Epsoma garden tone and happy frog bulb food along with teas.

Will be doing some Scrogging and topping for training.

Shooting for 5 pounds a plant.

Everything will be totally organic
And I will update when they go into the ground in a couple of weeks

You started your plants in Feb and will be transplanting into 400 gallon fabric pots outdoor....? I hit 3-5 lbs per plant with my low yielding strains and 5-8 lbs with high yielding strains, in 200 gallon pots, so you should have no problem hitting the 5 lbs mark. You're probably closer to 8 - 10 lbs in 400 gal. It should be especially easy for you to hit those numbers since half of your genetics are Bomb strain. Gorilla Bomb and Blue Dream are commercial strains and will be your largest yielder.

My average size colas in 200 gal.

14 lbs in the Emerald Triangle (Humboldt, Trinity and Mendocino) is considered to be on the "low side". 20 - 25 lbs per plant is more common in the mountains of the Triangle. 10 - 15 lbs is more common in county grows and 3 - 5 lbs is more common in city grows. And trust me, it's no fun. Lol. Not especially when you spend 10 - 12 hours hand watering hundreds of monster plants every 2 - 3 days. We are lucky to have long daylight period and stable temperature here almost all year round, which (along with great growing methods) allows the plants to get so big.

I'm from southern Humboldt originally, I know how it goes. I personally have never grown bigger than a 7 lb plant, but I only use 200 gallon pots outside. Now I'm in a different state and have to rethink my strategy, smaller plants that are harder to see.
