I've been to the site in the past when I started looking into growing them and will have to do that again and maybe join up. Be a switch to be asking for help in a forum rather than offering it.

Just out of curiosity. If/when you do decide to grow shrooms, how did you plan on going about it?

I ask because I've never grown them, but that's one thing I definitely want to tackle in the next 2-3 years. In the meantime, I've been reading a lot and trying to familiarize myself with the techniques so that I'm not bumbling around like a complete idiot when I finally do buckle down.

I appreciate the input. No disrespect, but I wasn't really looking for guidance, and the pf Tek definitely isn't the route I want to go.

It may be a bit less beginner friendly, but when I go for it, I want to go bulk subtrate in a monotub. I may not nail it the first time, but I'm confident that I can do it and it'll be worthwhile.

I used to love to shroom when i was a kid but its been fucking since my kids so around 13 years for me.

I dont even know if i would like to shroom any more but i sure like edible mushrooms and i think they are cool.

I’d do a small grow first. doing a mono tub right off you’ll most likely result in failure. It’s better to get your bearing first. But to each his own I got a good bit doing 24 jars.

I get where you're coming from, and I do appreciate your position and that you're trying to help.

I don't mind failing, as long as I learn something in the process. And I think there's more to learn from a more advanced technique than a beginner technique. The pf Tek is definitely the way to go, for some people, it's just not the route I wish to take. To each their own, as you said.

You'll want to go from spore, to agar, to LC, to grain or sawdust, to bulk sub then. A single vendor spore syringe should last you years and you'll have the best understanding of propagation and monoculture at that point.

If you want to learn the bulk Tek, then may I suggest trying it in a plastic Sterlite shoebox.. same tek just roughly quarter the scale of a bulk tub.. less material wasted on failure.. then once you have the basics down move to larger scale..

That's essentially the path I want to walk. I love more involved techniques. If I grow mushrooms, I want it to be a byproduct of working with and gaining an understanding of the process, not just to get a few shrooms...not that there's anything wrong with that.

I'm the same way.. when I have an interest in something I tend to try and learn everything about that subject.. I like hands on and doing for myself ,, then if that don't work I turn to the Internet and forums regarding that subject ...lol

That about sums it up. I can definitely be hardheaded that way, but I need hands on to learn.

I would really hate to dedicate as much time reading about shrooms as i have with weed haha

But i have read bits and peices over the years to have a semi understanding of the process




And the funny thing was when i mentioned i should try growing a few to my lady she said the same thing as i did


Man we havent shroomed in 13 or 14 years haha.

And the last time we did i dont think they where that great.

And she actually said mabey it would better if you grew em fresh............which basically means i have an unspoken authorization to try to grow some.......

You tube is or was chuck full of videos.. check out myco willy videos very easy to follow... Far as choice of mushroom,, I don't have much input on,, I grow the thai-koh samui super strain.. very easy to grow and fast colonizer.. it a smaller shroom but has a great body high and visuals..this veritiy doesn't stick you in the head to much..lol..

I'm not really sure.. some people say a cube is a cube and others say you can tell the difference between different verities of cubensis .. I've only grown the thai-koh samui cube... But from what I've read most Thailand verities are more potent then the cubes found in the America's.. but who knows for sure.. alot of print vendor's like to brag up different verities claiming one is better then the other.. mostly a marketing ploy.. so when looking around try to keep that in mind so your not dupt into buying bullshit ..
