if you can't easily see trichs on a leaf, throw the fucker in the compost heap. and stems are never worth the time or effort.

I just turned 1100g of bone dry fan leaves (no buds, no sugar leaf, that is separated) into 230g of dry ice hash and 1100g of cut up stems into 40g of dry ice hash in about 2 hours.
It's food grade, or I'll use it for concentrates and get perhaps a 25% yield (70g or so of oil).
I use everything but the roots. I'd recommend you do the same if you have a sufficient amount, but obviously if you only have a couple small plants it probably won't be worth it.
Was only trying to help you avoid wasting viable product, it's all too common people overlook fan leaves and stems.
At the end of this process everything is pulverized into a dust and perfect for compost.

That becomes quite a task...
Hash is basically worthless in my area, so I keep it for head stash. I dry ice screen it because to hell with that bubble hash labor...

I don't find the bubble hash labor to be too bad but I also use a mixer which takes out half the work!

Half the work on like 25lbs of trim is still a lot of work!

Yeah I confess I'm a bit behind on my processing as well lol, just finished last runs leaf and stems, still have the trim to work and got another harvest being trimmed up this weekend. Never ending...
Have you looked at making a sift extractor? I'm looking into making one because shaking a bag for hours on end gets fucking old.
Have you tried turning the hash into tertiary products? Distillate? Shatter? Edibles? IMO that's its best use rather than smoking, particularly hash from leaf.

I have a little keif tumbler that'll turn about a half pound at a time. It's a little home-built jobber from a friend.
I used to blow grease with it, but the quality of hash oil skyrocketed, and there's no room for old open tube blasting anymore. As it stands, I spice up my blunts with it, and if I ever cook food in the slow cooker, it gets sprinkled with a few grams of kief.

I’m in no till. All my fan leaves after defoliation are just added to the top layer of my pots. After harvest all stalks are chopped into 3-4 in pieces and added as mulch. The worms, mites, and fungi break everything down fairly quickly.

Can u expand on them mites? Bc I have mites in my soil but they don't really seem to bother my plant except for a few leaves here and there and everyone told me they were spider mites! But to this day I have never seen a web! Could u help me out?

there are actually so many kinds of mites that live in soil that they've had to write a book identifying them all, but only a couple are harmful, most of them are indicators of good soil conditions, they're a "peak predator" and if they're healthy, it means the whole chain is healthy.

It's the way of things here. They're part of the environment now, and all I can do is foster their predators as much as I can.
I'm still learning about predator mites and the types of environments they like, but since I stopped getting rid of wasp nest in my shed, they keep bud worms off my shit really well. I don't hardly see them anymore.
I still clear out the wasps at the end of the season (can't let them just build up, of course), but only then.

lady bugs work great, they need a little shelter and a small dish of water, and they'll breed and make a ton of predatory larva
I ferment some of mine usually. You can also dry it out, chop it up and top dress back in your soil. Free organic matter!
