Mega crop Sweet Candy

you can ask a few: johnny lawrence, cat of curiousity, ryante55.
Yup. My smallest res is 20 gallons, so the sample wouldn't cut it. Ended up buying the $50 bag.

I had PH issues the whole time. I'm used to a stable PH. I'm a DJ, and I take frequent surf trips, so like rkymtnman, I need to be able to leave the house for extended periods. My usual nute mix is PH stable af. The other issue I had with MC was that during the last few weeks was late flower stretching - they didn't fill out like they normally do. I harvested 18 ounces out of a room that averages 2.5 pounds.

Also keep in mind that I'm no rook. Been growing indoors for almost 20 years.

Oh also, in case anybody was wondering - ebb & flow w/ RO water

It's basically what's in the VitaGrow I use except it's split into three parts with Vitagrow.
This is another nute line I'm interested in testing out. I read a lot about them, and I like the concept. It looks similar in price to GH 3 part.

How are your results? Any issues or complaints.

I've seen some good results from people running this. I might try a run in one of my smaller flowering rooms.

Do you use any additives with it?
No I only use the Grow bottle.

But I have been considering a humic input to help with uptake during mid flower. But I just leach the pots with water and resume feeding now.

Pretty expensive option for a large Grow I think.

Results are great. It's pretty simple. You use Part A (micronutients) and part B (calcium nitrate) for veg. For flower you use the same but add part C (monopotassium phosphate). Unlike MegaCrop it's split into three parts which allows you to adjust the levels of nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus during your grow. I'll add some additional epsom salts a few weeks into flower for the sulfur. And I've started adding a dose of potassium sulfate around five weeks into flower based on information from @Dr. Who. I also never had a problem maintaining PH when maintaining a reservoir for hydro. It's also a nice clear golden color and no sludge at all.

I've been using it for years. It's basically just repackaged chemical salts with a very small markup. Same stuff in most nutrient lines just cheaper. Plus it's put out by American Agriculture which is one of if not the first grow shop that opened in Portland years ago, 1982 to be exact, and is close enough to my house that I can walk there. So I might be a little biased but that doesn't change the fact that it works. I've used it in flood and drain, DWC, coco, and soil all with the same great results. The reason I went to it was because of cost. It's so much cheaper and works as good as anything I've used before. The nutrient industry is a money grab. You don't need to buy twelve bottles when everything you need is in VitaGrow. For $25 you can get a 1 lb box of each part.

Results don't lie

To be fair mega crop is a great product.

Yes. I'm normally against cannabis specific nutrients and all the additives.

Mega crop is affordable and a really good all in one nutrient.

I can see why they would extend thier line.

I think the extras aren't needed but some people want them.

That's odd.

Several members have had good experience with mega crop in hydro. One was @HydroRed and said that it dissolved good and was stable.

Not sure why it would be unstable after a few days.

What type of water do you use? Someone had a problem like that. May have been you. I don't remember.
I have personally had zero issues with pH using MC. It dissolves down to tea when I premix all of the nute into a gallon jug, shake for 30 seconds, then add that to my res. No res slime in my F&D, or gunked up drippers on my waterfarm buckets. I still use MC to this day and am very pleased with how it performs. My lawn seems to love it as well lol @rkymtnman

Yes that's the only weird tick in the whole deal. Although when I was in contact with GL they did tell me the MC would take them straight through to harvest. But they did offer the Bloom food for people who would like to use it. I think like any company their just trying to compete. So far their not nearly as bad as many of the others......fucking snake oil potions galore ....lol

I've been using the MC in one of my greenhouses. Shit is working awesome for me. No issues whatsoever and the girls seem happy. I'm guna run some on just MC all the way through to see for myself........proof is in the pipe I guess.
Any yield issues with MC ?

No final yield issues ? Add Epsom or additives ?

I'm sold on Megacrop. Last grow, my 3rd all told, I thought I'd try DWC on one plant of the 3 I started. So I got myself a 5 gal bucket, air pumps and stones, and for the sake of simplicity I planned to feed from the 1kg pkg of Megacrop I won in their giveaway last year. When the WW clone grew roots long enough to hit the nute solution it went fucking crazy, taking over almost the entire 2x4 grow area, and crowding out the 2 soil plants. In mid-June, after a 6 wk veg and 11 weeks of bloom I harvested 8 oz from the soil plants, and over a pound from the 1 MC fed monster. Here's a shot of 3 of the dozen or so colas of similar size, dried to over an oz each:

Per Greenleaf's recommendation I did supplement every feeding during flower with 20 ml of diy Big Bud. Never had a single problem with pH or anything else. White Widow is apparently known to love it's nutes, and I kept the ppm at ~1200 with only minimal burn to leaf tips.

No doubt my move to hydro helped, but the Megacrop made feeding an inexpensive no brainer. Nope, I'm no expert, but from my limited experience I'm not sure why anyone would use anything else.

I did a complete run on MC only with no real issues. The feed was a bit strong on the last week or so and just then did I experience burnt tips. Other than that, I just use a 0-18-16 boost during flower now with good results. I havent needed anything else other than some cal/mag when I switched over from my HPS to LED cobs. Under the HPS/HM or fluoros I didnt need cal/mag.

After 10 weeks, using MegaCrop, cal+mag pro, and sweet candy. (cmh and led, coco, co2)
Reduced MC/calmag over last couple weeks, from 5.5 down to 1.0. Stopped calmag at week 8. Supplemented with bud explosion during same period.
No idea if the sweet candy made any diff. Stopped using it at week 8.
Soon chop chop.

Ill have to go back and read. I know people were using it hydro.

Use what works for you.

I bounce back and forth. I usually grow some in living soil then some I use bottled or dry mix nutrients. Then ones I grow with salt based nutrients I usually go back and forth between a few different one.
wondering why you are bouncing back and forth if one way is working ?

Boredom I guess. That and I grow house plants, flowers and a vegetable garden. I usually have more than one type of nutrient around. I usually buy whatever good quality salt based nutrient is on sale at the time. I've also been given lots of samples that I sometimes will do a run with to see how they work.

Some bottled stuff I keep as additives for when needed like Cal/mag if my mix is lacking.

Bouncing around may not be the best thing to do. I've been growing something or another all my life. I just use what's handy.

I prefer water only organic. I'm not opposed to bottled nutrients if properly used.

Megacrop being a sample. Actually some that I won or was asked to try. I don't remember. It was free. It's good stuff. I like dynagro products for a all in one bottle. Rxgreensolutions makes a good two part veg and bloom formula. I like botanicare as well. Several others that are good.

I know this is an older thread but just reading more about MC. I fed the house plants some at recommended rates as a test and within 2 weeks they have doubled their blooms.

For anyone else researching Mega Crop on this thread, it doesn’t address HPA, so I thought I’d bump it for the HPA researchers.

I’m about to start my first HPA grow and have been following dstroy on here. He has been running MC @ 1.6 EC from first set of leaves to finish. He’ll suppliment cal/mag in flower, if needed, with pretty speedy results. He also ensures his accumulator tank is recirculating back to Rez regularly to ensure everything stays mixed.

As far as solids getting to the .75 gph. nozzles, filter down to 1 micron before nozzles.

Hope this helps anyone else researching HPA and Mega Crop.

Speedy Growing
