Cree is not the only one making cobs cooj. I am running 500w of bridglux vero-18. Seems to work pretty good. that same 500w gets a space upgrade soon from the 2x4 you see to a 4x4.

DIY LED is a great way to go no matter what you decide. CMH is great too. It has a lower start-up cost for sure. LED is here to stay though.
I'm new to this site n wondering ur pic Is it grown under led if so wow really impressed how shit what's the watt n sq ft of that beauty great job I was n still unsure of led u may have swayed my opinion for sure

I'm building
I'm playing around with different configs/footprints, that tent you're referring to is actually a different grow. The LEC runs are in my main flower room that's 4x9.5x7'. I ran 2 plants initially as I pulled 3 males out of 5 plants first round I got it. I ran 4x plants in 5Gal after that run, just finished it about 3 weeks ago and pulled 10.9 zips from that one. Then I ran a large Blue Dream by itself in a 7Gal pot that took up about 24" x 36", it was just a test to see what I could pull from a larger 7Gal plant, that came in at 7 zips dry. Right now I'm running 2x 315w LEC's side by side in a 3x6. First 3x3 I'm running 6x plants in 3Gal pots, 2nd 3x3 I put in a week ago, that's 3x 5gal and 2x 2gal smaller spare clones I had.

It depends on size of the plants and typically the pots they're in. The 6x 3Gal plants in the first 3x3 (were put into flowering at about 16-18" tall and they're now about 24" tall) and filling the 3x3 after stretch. The second 3x3 in 5Gal's were about 24" tall going into flowering, they'll end up around 30" tall, then I added 2 smaller plants in 2Gal to fill in the open spot, they're now filling in the 3x3, when they finish stretch next week they'll fill the full 3x3. You have to guesstimate the final size by allowing for stretch depending on what strains you're running and how you've trained them. If you have the veg room or flowering them in the same space 4x 5Gal or 6x 3Gal will typically fill a 3x3 well.

The thread I've been posting those runs is the red link in my sig if you want to read through more details. I tried to upload a shot of the current 3x6 (2x 3x3's) but there's an issue right now trying to upload files, will try an update it in my thread once whatever's going on right now gets fixed. Cheers.

Yo. I have considered buying one of your LEC conversion kits (ballast, adapter, Phillips bulb) and using a parabolic reflector that you sell with a vertical bulb position. Will that work? Thanks.

Yes, that would work flawlessly. The conversion kit adapter will work with any standard mogul base socket reflector. That type of lighting setup is exactly what these setups were made for :)

You could go with as few as 4 lights if you're on a budget, or as many as 6 if you want to cram them in there, but 5 lights would provide for great coverage. Whether you go with 4, 5 or 6 lights, you'll want to slightly checkerboard them across your 5' x 9' or else you'll have some pretty strong hot spots and less even light intensity at the canopy. I did a quick mockup in draw.io, the open source engineering program we use, and you can see how the lights should be laid out, approximately. Notice the light in the middle is closer to the northernmost wall than the other two units to the right and left of it. This provides for more even coverage when cross-lighting from fixture to fixture is considered.

Edit: I'd recommend also leaving plants out of the southeast and southwest 1' x 1' corners. These are great areas to put your accessories you may keep in your grow tent or grow room e.g., CO2 generator, CO2 tank, shelf, etc...
That's why you need 6 315's in a 5x9/10

View attachment 3660813 View attachment 3660814 I went from 1000 watts hps to 600w hps, sold those, bought 2, 315s, 110 volt... just finished my first grow with the 315s.. Here's two waterfarms a couple days before harvest, first first is Nirvana Blackberry, second is Blue Mystic..... Good example how different strains stretch in flower.. The 315 watt did a good job of reaching the lower buds on the BM...
You got like the stadium effect going on here. Pretty damn good for a first dwc grow homie!!

What brand of tent is your 3x6?ive been searching unsuccessfully for a long time trying to find a 3x6 tent.
Sorry some confusion there in how I wrote that. What I meant was that I was running two lights covering 3x6' feet on that run. The room is 4x8 available space and my footprint was 3x6 inside that room. I run some smaller tents for veg but my flower room is a separate room I built for flowering.

Hey guys. I just purchased a Prism Lighting Science 315w Ceramic Metal Halide CM 120/240V Ballast, and a Sun System LEC 315 RA CMH Remote Reflector w/ a Phillips bulb.

This would be my first time running a somewhat high intensity light and just wanted to be as safe as possible. I am not very clear on the electrical aspects of the circuit breakers and ballast output and so on.

I attached an image of my circuit breaker info

Rating 125 Amps Max

Your new ballast should list amperage on the manufacturers plate/sticker.
