Why all the arguments over LED vs HPS ?

Exactly - my temps are running a bit higher than yours (86 is the highest I've hit), but the outside temps have pretty regularly been in the low 90's where I'm at (also in California). My wife is already mad at me for how much I've spent on my new hobby; I'd be looking for a bachelor pad if I needed to add cooling to what I'm doing.
86 isn’t bad ( I think the magic # is 82 for this light) I have the air conditioner on room temperature on hot days as to control the environment inside the tent.

The highest I saw was 83 ( thankfully) I know a hps set-up would halve had me in the high 90s , facing heat stress and possibly hermies.

Can’t understand why when technology is improved, some still choose to suffer lol.

Happy growing with that awesome light!!!

Ugh - I just checked the tent this morning and it looks like it hit 90 at some point yesterday. Hopefully not for too long - we were out for most of the hottest part of the afternoon, so the AC was off. The plants still look good and buds seem to have actually fattened up over night - yesterday was a watering day and I'm getting close to harvest so I figured I'd try the molasses in water thing and surprisingly seemed to have an effect (or I'm just kidding myself, which is very possible)!

Congratulations again on the great harvest!

I leave the air on until about 4:00 pm . My lights came on at 5:00 pm, by then the hottest part of the day is over and the entire house is cooled for the evening.

Hey, I wanted to try the molasses thing because I’m a believer and I’ll try anything ( that makes sense) once. I finished up with kool bloom this time.

Keep me posted on your harvest!! This light deserves its own thread lol. I hope you’re able to get those temps down , forecast says we’ll hit the low 90s this week .

Thanks Lola! I'm new to all this, so made a mistake with my light schedule (having the lights on during the hottest part of the day). I'm currently not working due to caring for an ailing parent, so decided to have the lights on during the day - definitely going to switch the schedule the next time around. Will let you know about the harvest, and good luck with your next grow!

That’s the best part about indoor growing.

We’re able to make it day or night inside the tent as we choose. I’ve found switching night into day keeps things much cooler.

I look forward to your results and happy growing to you too!! This light really deserves a thread so we can help each other out. Many of us are just becoming familiar with this lighting.

It’s a learning experience for sure.

Congrats on your success.

I guess people just tend to resist change. It can get like politics here, people take a side and don't look at things locally or objectively. People should consider what light is best for their situation, rather than what is "the best" light. Besides cost, I think it's important to consider ambient temperature and humidity, grow size, ceiling height, electricity rates, etc.

If one has a little money and a cold room with high ceilings? Why spend more money for LED?
Three foot tall tent in a 80° room? Go with LED strips.
