Trust me I have heard too much about molasses. Every few years in the growing community someone will post factual information such as: Molasses promotes beneficial microbes in the soil which helps convert unusable organic compounds into nutrients usable by the plant.
Then it turns into a telephone game and a bunch of kids jump on the bandwagon and start saying things totally out of conjecture like: "I got huge buds all because I used molasses" or "molasses increases THC content" or "molasses makes my bud taste better". Well old school growers like me just go . . .
After a while it gets hard to sort out the BS from the facts, I prefer factual scientific evidence not ideas from some stoned teenager. Ok rant over![]()
Well said. You should be open to new ideas but you should also use your brain and research yourself. For instance when I started growing I started using molasses almost immediately so I had no idea if it was actually doing anything. This last run I didn't use it and I noticed a substantial decrease in resin and a small but noticeable dip in potency.
That's still not really scientific though, just anecdotal at the moment. This next grow I've got in flower I'm going to use it on 2 out of 3 plants and see if they are any better than the one I don't use it on.
