Okay gents I've been reading, studying, and listening, about growing for 2 years since my last grow. Tomorrow I'm going to pull the trigger and this is what I've chosen for my set up (without the obvious needs for fans inside the tent to keep the plants moving or the Fox Farms nutes as those should be obvious to anyone who's read about growing for more than a day )
I posted this on reddit day before yesterday and got some interesting advice but I want to hear what you folks have to say (PLEASE ROGER A Shrubber chime in )
The prevailing opinion seems to be go with LST instead of Scrog. I'll be growing White Widow and Northern Lights initially with fem seeds from Royal Queen.
Granted it's a budget set up but it's what I can afford.
The following is what I've chosen

I'd like to get AT LEAST 1.5 to 2 ozs per plant per grow because an ounce lasts about 3 months around here so I can build up an inventory. Any more than that and I'm going to be THRILLED because I want to experiment with edibles (I love to cook so making some of that stuff just sounds like good fun).
I'm also considering getting another tent in the near future specifically to veg in so I can do a perpetual harvest once I get this system dialed in.
Also has anybody ever actually used horse shit compost in a grow? Reason I ask is I have access to a LOT of it. If it's a decent grow medium I might just load up 4 or 6 50 lb bags and store em for future use when I move.
Thanks for your advice moving forward guys and gals and an even bigger thanks to this community as a whole for been very light on trolls and very heavy with solid advice and friendliness. I've learned a lot in my reading and asking questions and I know I'm going to learn a lot more with experience.
Oh and fellow 'noobs' just a word to the wise. You don't become an 'expert' in a day of reading or asking repetitive questions. Studying a discipline is one thing. Actual real life practice is another. 'Reading' about driving a car is way different than actually doing it on the road. I know I'm going to have a learning curve on this my 3rd grow. A lot of what you want to know is just getting the experience. Be patient. You ARE going to fuck up. But, thankfully, the growing community as a whole is FULL of really great folks that will bend over backwards to give you good advice if you are polite but you have to put that advice into practice and figure out your own 'tweaks' that work for you as you get more experience. To me it's like cooking. I can take a recipe off the web and go 'meh that needs a tad more garlic and a little less oregeno' because I've been cooking for 30 years. Be patient guys. You're not going to grow a pound in your closet on your first run I promise you. Even with the shit I'm about to buy my first grow is going to be smaller than I want. But I'll learn from real world experience and it's going to be fun. But I have a ton of experts at my fingertips that will come a running to help so long as I have done my research and don't ask repetitive questions that are covered in numerous blogs, sidebars, etc. Do your research, take the leap, ask intelligent questions, and happy growing!!
