Are those HLG boards and they don't need a sink at what , 75watts per board you're running?
I gotta say, I love the ingenuity for the frame using PVC. That thing will be ultra light weight.

I like the design its uniquem those long pvc pipes may be a bit bendy though.

HAHAHA...! I agree, grrrrr.... but there is method to my madness. My box is 4x4.5 each corner has a pillar 2x4 support. One corner (back left) has a tower fan to circulate air. So, in order to push the frame all the way out horizontaly I had to leave room for the vertical. Make sense...? I’m kinda buzzed ... :-)

Just connected the lights to my canoe hoist. Raised it up over my head to check from below. Over the 4’ she bends maybe 1/2 in. I may put in more supports & cross supports if it starts to annoy me.... time will tell.

How much did this 4x4 light cost man?

boards were $133 x 4 I think. Then the drivers, wire, etc was in addition. If I can produce good meds, it’s money well spent. Besides, I just got medical retired and need a new hobby to help keep me sane.... this $h!t is fun and I haven’t even really started yet, can’t imagine the feeling of pride swell as the plants grow & flourish ...!!

I wouldn't feel bad if I were you (and I know you don't). While it's true that you could have adequately lit that space with far less power - and I highly doubt you'll end up using anything close to 1,050w - you now have a fixture that is capable of being run more efficiently than most of the setups I've seen. Personally, I can't imagine running that thing at more than 720w (40w per sq/ft - that's the upper limit for most of us), which is less than 50w/board. Add to that the fact that you've created a veritable ceiling of light, with more diodes directly over the canopy than any strip build I can remember. Yes, you could absolutely have built a kick-ass strip light that would rock that space like nobody's business, for a lot less money, and yeah, I doubt any difference in yield will be significant, but it's still fucking rad. And if you have the money and feel like spending it, and find the whole thing fun, why the hell not? Really cool, man. I dig.

Im a fng newbie, learning, wasting money, re-evaluating, making changes, more money, re-eval... rinse & repeat. I figure what doesn’t get returned to Home Depot will end up on “Let Go” or “Offer Up” type local garage sale aps.

I did the same thing when I started brewing my own beer. I found a happy spot where I was producing kick ass ipa and didn’t feel any more “tweaks” to the system were needed. That’s when the pipeline opens up and top notch beer that is perfect for me is in steady supply. Can’t wait for Cannabis to be a similar hobby.

Well on the upside if you decide to add a second growspace, you could break that down into two and not haveto spend any money.

Wear sunglasses buddy , and keep it up high, and start with it turned down low.

Slow changes.....

A veg box & a flower box are a def thing to think about in the future.

I could remove 3 panels from this platform, leaving 12 boards in this 4x4.5 = 48w a sq foot. Then have 4 boards for a clone/veg box leaving the big box for flowering.

What say you veteran growers ...?
