Hi Casperd,
I don't think you'll be happy with cheap LEDs. Lots of disappointing grows confirm that.

Harley's suggestion of a cheap HID is most practical though in a small tent like that, HID might not be an option...though the 175 watt MH might be tempting (to me)

I recently bought a used LED and you might consider that option...,

Cheap and led don’t work to well from what I have experienced so far. I did end up buying a cheap led and replaced it in a month with an power 600 watt mh/hps set up for like 150 or so and it has been great so far compared to the cheap led

projectinfo has a perfect suggestion. I did something similar with a 24x18 cookie pan, 240w Meanwell, and 5 Samsung double row F-strips. Absolutely crushes a closet grow.

Sounds good to me...but I'm just learning about leds. Sems that the samsung diodes are what you want.

I mentioned a used light because I recently purchased one. A lumiGrow pro 650. I never would have paid the asking price for these but used on ebay I paid like 1/4 retail. I just wanted to give it a try.

I use the $59 Mars 300 and grow some very decent stuff. They have lasted me over 3 years of daily use. Now I would do something along th HLG 65, they may be low for what you need now but you can another one a year later and so on

I just ordered everything for a 320 watt Samsung f series led setup. I bought every part individually and spent $380 shipped for everything, which was slightly cheaper than I expected it to be. I used this design for a basic idea then learned how to make some changes depending on space and power desired. Here is the link to the thread on here, all the part names are links.

Maybe, but the QB watts are ALOT lower than most LEDs, my HLG 65 is at least 1.5-2 times better than the galaxy/mars hydro 300w it replaced

regardless.. 65w is not enough for 4ft2.. period. It will veg fine but you can NOT flower properly with under 20w/ft2 of any light out right now.

If you're only using it for a single plant (or a few tiny ones i suppose) in part of the tent it would be fine... If you're trying to properly light the entire tent, it will not be enough

No arguments w that, but I think he would be better off buying a 4-pack of quantum board 120 and a sufficient driver for 200 ish bucks all together

I bought an $85 1000W led bank off wish just to see how it does, for veg it wasn’t strong enough and I’ve had to sub in 5 CFL’s and so for around $250 i have enough power now... so it can be done on the cheap. Being it’s my first grown I’d say lesson learned.
