Im building a 20x30 room inside of an existing 1400 sq ft shop. Walls will be 6 inch stud with spray insulation. I'll have all the outlets on the ceiling for 20 1200 watt leds. The room will be sealed. I need advise on ventilation, exhaust, CO2 or not? and mini-split ac for this setup. I plan to have 60-80 plants going. Thanks in advance.

Have you grown before? If not walk before you run. As for the room seems like mine minus I put my plugs at the four ft mark rather than the ceiling. The insulation is good for the obvious reasons but it dampens sound as well. The other difference is mine uses a 2nd zone off my geothermal set to auto. Ventilation I use big Dayton blowers I believe they were I don’t use co2. And the leds are they built or some knockoff. If they aren’t good leds wait and get better or build or simply go cmh or hps.

Thanks for the reply... Yes, I have grown, but not indoors. My state is legal now, and I want to give it a run or two through fall, winter. I have little experience with this many LED's .. pretty sure im going with HydroGrow Penetrator 336X's. Im thinking that with almost 36000 btu's being generated, I'll need a 4 ton unit ? What do you think I will need to turn over that much air (5400 cubic ft) to keep the RH in check? Thanks again for the reply.

Timber seems to have a good rep...I'll look into it. There seems to be a million LED options and just as many opinions. Mind boggling. The sun is so much more simple
It is hard for a new guy at first. Some very good LED out there and lots of junk. Timber and HLG are very good. I'll try to post some of the others tonight. If you can use a hacksaw and drill, you can probably build an excellent light.

That would be great! Thanks so much.

i hesitate to make recommendations cause i grow in a space a fraction of that size

but, for example just need 24 fixtures that each cover a 5x5. each one would have to be at least 850-900 watts. you could get 8 x HLG QB288 V2 boards, youd need a couple big drivers and heatsinks for each fixture so each would be like $600 in boards and $300 heatsinks if ordered from HLG and $250 in drivers. x 24 fixtures. thats like $27 grand plus building the frames, wiring etc.

might be easier to just buy 24 of the http://timbergrowlights.com/fatty-sam/ for like $34k which uses the same 8 boards/sinks/drivers im talking about. depends what your time and money is worth.
but those samsung boards are my recommendation if you do decide to go with LED. or the vero29C cob that is in the timber fatty vs. 24 of those fixtures would cover your space nicely too.

wow thats a big space!

Good luck!

Great information guys and gals! Time is going to be a crunch, so I better stay away from builds. The construction/remodel starts next week, with plumbers, framers, electricians, etc. and I cant wait to get this up and running! I am sure there will be trial and error, and I really appreciate you guys help and input! Hopefully we will be germinating in about 3 weeks. This will be a good jump start to market going into Winter, as i believe as the rules stand we'll be able to go outdoor in May. I have a lot more space outside! I dont know about your State, but this one has no grow limit, no qualifications on conditions for patients, the fees are low compared to other States, and the competition is going to be strong at first. I may do a construction/grow journal. Thanks again!
