I touched on this on my previous post. Ive upped my amount of nutes and added cal/mag. Seems to be getting wors3, and my buds on the 2 most affected are not really swelling up any.

PH is 6.3 (should i get them to 6.5?)

Most affected- left(fresh candy auto) and back(white widow auto)

The white widow is also 3ft tall, seems kinda weird for an auto.

Lights- 400w mars ii hydro

Temps- usually around 75

Medium- mixed 1/3 FF ocean Forest, 2/3 roots organic

Water ( type and PH ) tap water that i let sit uncovered at room temp for 48 hrs. Last watering, i had the water ph'ed at 6.24, runoff was 6.38, so 6.31. All 3 landed in the 6.3 to 6.35 range.

Nutes- fox farms big bloom(1tbsp/gal), CAliMAGic(1.5tbsp/gal), and occasionally I will add in some pure blend tea compost(.5tbsp/gal) that i was given a sample of at my hydroshop. Ive been going up in dose from every watering.

Cycle- 24/0, they are autos.

The burnt tips on your leaves suggests your girls are getting a little more food than they want, which may be hindering your efforts. Does your base soil contain nutrients right out of the bag? Perhaps between what is already inherently in your soil and the added nutrients you're providing isn't jiving? Connecting the dots; if you're adding more and they are getting worse, perhaps you should consider going in the opposite direction. Just a suggestion; you could go 18/6 on your lights and still get the same benefits as your 24/0 schedule, while saving yourself a few dollars in electricity costs. Don't kid yourself, your plant is and will shut down to rest, even if the lights are on all the time. Remember, the sun sets every day for a reason.

If your using ocean forest and adding nutes your probably over nuteing. How much nutes arr you adding per gal and can you get a ppm meter ? Fox farm usualy has enough mag and such in there nutes , but its also diffacult to cause toxicity or over due calmag .

I mix dirt for my grows. I don't use any ferts till week 5 flower unless plants tell me they need food.
I have had dirt grows where I didn't have to give plants any ferts. Really depends how rich the soil is.

Just go a little heavier on the watering on the damaged plant(s). Where there's leaf damage you can be sure there's root damage.

Be sure the pots have good drainage. Be sure to have run off for every watering. This helps remove toxins and excess fertilizer from the soil.

I agree with Canna...my plants do exactly what yours are when I fail to decrease their nutrient dosage in mid to late flower. It starts off looking like a cal-mag def, leading to burnt crispy leaves. If this is what you're experiencing, down your nutes....is it happening primarily to the leaves closest to your grow light? This would indicate overfertilizing, as the leaves getting the most light get the most water, and hence, the most nutrients.
*EDIT* I'm in hydro so I must brush up on my info, but isn't 6.3 just a touch low for soil? Could be wrong here, haven't been in soil in years.

Ill consider it. Will it stunt anything making that lighting change?

Also, the burnt tips are from the last time i nuted. I flushed and then it started looking worse. It started just a little up from the bottom.

They both do. I didnt start adding any nutes until signs of phosphorous deficiency started showing up. I added 1/8th the recommended amount. And it looked like it was still progressing. At that time my was at 6.5. So i lowered it down to 6.4.

looks like potassium deficiency to me can’t be certain tho
Im not even sure at this point.

I have a ppm meter, but i dont really use it. I dont fully understand. People talk about nuting to 350ppms, and im not sure about that, because my water is and has always been above 300 without adding anything to it.

And i have the amounts i used in the first post

Strange. Dirt as in fresh out of the yard? Do you worry about that causing pest issues, or do you do something to rid that being an issue?

Will do. Ive been watering a gallon per plant. They are in 3 gal pots. Theres usually a good deal of runoff. I also water slow. Usually 5-10 minutes per plant. I try to make sure its evenly watered, and i dont like to create puddles. Seems like perlite starts coming up from the bottom.

Also, im in smart pots, so they get excellent drainage. :)

I had to increase, it started from a lower spot and mirrored phosphorus deficiency symptoms.

They say between 6 and 7. Most recommend 6.5, so i kinda try to float around from 6.3 to 6.7... slowly of course! I just try to get the best of all worlds.

If your ppm is 300 at the onset...just subtract that from the ppm number you see as a reading. Take a test of your runoff water....I'm gonna bet it's over 2000.

I'd ditch the pH meter and stop fretting over that..unless your source water is 5....0r ..9.... Soil is your buffer. FFOF is buffered.

Right now ppm is gonna tell more than pH. I'm guessing it's real high and you are simply locking everything out due to it.

good luck.

Okay thanks. My water ph is around 5.7 out the tap. When i add nutes, its usually 5.9-6.1, depending on how much and of what i add.

What should my ppm goal be when feeding?

Everyone thinks differently/runs their grows differently. I've learned >slow and steady< usually wins the race....without lots of in between crap. Push em...and things happen.

I'd say 1000 would be the highest I'd go......so 700 ppms of fert. I know others run lower and others who run hotter.

Whatever/wherever...I'd check it and see what is going on now with the dosages you've given.

good luck

Okay, thanks for the advice!

Have you checked for fungus gnats sounds silly but they will eat the roots and cause these exact problems the other thing is making sure your light is not to close as it will give them light burn

I have been fighting a few spots like what you have. I also use FFOF.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with overwatering and the amount of nutrients in the FFOF soil. If you overwater early on in the plants life, you will end up with some pretty serious burns and marks on the leaves.

Caution on cal mag. I didn't see your water EC or PPM listed. Tap water hardness is usually calcium as the major mineral. Calcium is basically immobile in the plant . Meaning where it goes initially is where it is when you chop it. Excess calcium can cause nutrient lockout.

I'm not an autos expert. Only my second year. However i was feeding Lucas formula Jungle Juice at 1200 PPM in veg and 850-900 in flower. Pretty much like any cannabis. The Bering Sea Blue from Baked Beans Seeds is absolutely the stickiest bud I've grown in about 5 years. Even the sugar leaves had so many trichs it looked like mold or mildew. I mos defwill pop a few more of those. Gifts from a friend. Also grew out their Abduction Sour Diesel and the top cola was incredible.

Edit add: topped one ASD in my OCD garden maintenance. In mid-veg. It responded like any other and formed 2 tops. However they did not yield anything like the unmolested one did. Not an auto convert but a couple are cool.
