The burnt tips on your leaves suggests your girls are getting a little more food than they want, which may be hindering your efforts. Does your base soil contain nutrients right out of the bag? Perhaps between what is already inherently in your soil and the added nutrients you're providing isn't jiving? Connecting the dots; if you're adding more and they are getting worse, perhaps you should consider going in the opposite direction. Just a suggestion; you could go 18/6 on your lights and still get the same benefits as your 24/0 schedule, while saving yourself a few dollars in electricity costs. Don't kid yourself, your plant is and will shut down to rest, even if the lights are on all the time. Remember, the sun sets every day for a reason.
Ill consider it. Will it stunt anything making that lighting change?
Also, the burnt tips are from the last time i nuted. I flushed and then it started looking worse. It started just a little up from the bottom.
They both do. I didnt start adding any nutes until signs of phosphorous deficiency started showing up. I added 1/8th the recommended amount. And it looked like it was still progressing. At that time my was at 6.5. So i lowered it down to 6.4.
looks like potassium deficiency to me can’t be certain tho
Im not even sure at this point.
If your using ocean forest and adding nutes your probably over nuteing. How much nutes arr you adding per gal and can you get a ppm meter ? Fox farm usualy has enough mag and such in there nutes , but its also diffacult to cause toxicity or over due calmag .
I have a ppm meter, but i dont really use it. I dont fully understand. People talk about nuting to 350ppms, and im not sure about that, because my water is and has always been above 300 without adding anything to it.
And i have the amounts i used in the first post
I mix dirt for my grows. I don't use any ferts till week 5 flower unless plants tell me they need food.
I have had dirt grows where I didn't have to give plants any ferts. Really depends how rich the soil is.
Strange. Dirt as in fresh out of the yard? Do you worry about that causing pest issues, or do you do something to rid that being an issue?
Just go a little heavier on the watering on the damaged plant(s). Where there's leaf damage you can be sure there's root damage.
Be sure the pots have good drainage. Be sure to have run off for every watering. This helps remove toxins and excess fertilizer from the soil.
Will do. Ive been watering a gallon per plant. They are in 3 gal pots. Theres usually a good deal of runoff. I also water slow. Usually 5-10 minutes per plant. I try to make sure its evenly watered, and i dont like to create puddles. Seems like perlite starts coming up from the bottom.
Also, im in smart pots, so they get excellent drainage.
I agree with Canna...my plants do exactly what yours are when I fail to decrease their nutrient dosage in mid to late flower. It starts off looking like a cal-mag def, leading to burnt crispy leaves. If this is what you're experiencing, down your nutes....is it happening primarily to the leaves closest to your grow light? This would indicate overfertilizing, as the leaves getting the most light get the most water, and hence, the most nutrients.
*EDIT* I'm in hydro so I must brush up on my info, but isn't 6.3 just a touch low for soil? Could be wrong here, haven't been in soil in years.
I had to increase, it started from a lower spot and mirrored phosphorus deficiency symptoms.
They say between 6 and 7. Most recommend 6.5, so i kinda try to float around from 6.3 to 6.7... slowly of course! I just try to get the best of all worlds.
