Cleaning fabric pots

hydrogen peroxide sterilizes just as well as bleach. they're both strong oxidozers, and work the same way. bleach is usually stronger, unless you have 30% + peroxide (which i do)

It absolutely does not sterilize as well. If it did it would be use to clean, sterilize or disinfect in hospitals. It doesn't so it isn't .

If peroxide is combined with peracetic acid it becomes a sterilizing agent. Heat is far better. Just throw them dry in a dryer. In a laundromat of course.

i like it better than bleach. bleach loses effectiveness WAY faster than h2o2. and works just as good.

i take the fuckers to the laundrymat, stuff them into one of the industrial machines, pay for super wash, hot water, and they come out looking pretty good. i just throw them in a basket wet and let them dry at home, fold em up and use em again when i need them.

this here. Or use the dryers there also. I used to feel bad till I seen the dog breeders and vets and horse folks bringing in their gear in to use in them washers and dryers. I try not to follow them lol

i don't like to dry them, if you get one of those machines where the selector doesn't work, you can get a dryer full of melted lumps by the time you notice something isn't right

FML when you got 20 or 30 10gallon pots to do. I switched to hard wall air pots.
But this is my method
Remove medium, let dry.
Take outside, n rub the fabric together on its self, this will break up all the roots.
Then I put into a tub , with borax , bleach n dish soap. I hand wash, then rinse n repeat, till cleanish, then they go into a washing machine, then air dry n vacuum packed till there next round.

It gets old fast.

I don't wash any of my pots between plantings because I'm lazy and my plants don't seem to care.

I can’t handle stains on the pots , n them looking dirty, I just stopped using them.
Next year I’m going to use them for tomato's n peppers on the deck.

I usually pull out the medium and am left with dry roots, it's a royal pain in the ass to pull all of them out. Does anyone else have a different easier way of cleaning these fuckers?

I turn them inside out and skim the rest of the dry roots and shit off with a blunt carving knife, a bit like giving them a shave.

Then throw them all in the bath and fill it with hot water and bleach, leave them to soak till the water is cold.

Drain all the bleach solution out and rinse them through with the shower head.

Then run them through a washing machine cycle with no detergent.

They come out of the washing machine as good as new.

gonna say that is a fast track to messing your dryer up.These are really cheap to buy in my hydro store,I would just buy new and put the others in the recycling bin.

I smack them around to get rid of as much debris as I can, hose them out, let them dry, and smack them around some more. They don't have to be thoroughly washed out. You're filling them with dirt anyway.

Put a photo of that prat trump,on the front make you beat them harder

gonna say that is a fast track to messing your dryer up.These are really cheap to buy in my hydro store,I would just buy new and put the others in the recycling bin.

I use only bags from Ruth's Tree Farm (buy on Amazon). I was almost sick unpacking the first pack. Flimsy as hell with a note to please try them before giving a bad review. Incredibly cheap, tough and work perfect. Use once and recycle.

I know you know the answer for this. Bleach kills germs. Not most fungus. H2O2 kills fungus and some bacteria. I'd avoid bleach. And honestly, fabric pots. Not good formy soil methods.

I just tub container soak with vinegar and water , flip inside out and bristle brush the bastards. Rinse soak them in water - air dry them .

THEN ...... blast them with lysol spray ( same as tent btw ) and go have a beer.

Its not trying to remove Skidmarks for god’s sake
