This is where we come to the next conundrum for people, define "sugar" as fruit, veggies, grains, even milk, contains a form of sugar and you do need that.give up animal products

The ADDED sugars, the processed shit which is empty calories designed, like excessive salt, to be a flavour enhancer is a different matter but, like with eggs and fats in times not so long ago, the call goes out that "ALL sugar is bad" and that's when people are more likely to fuck themselves up as big scary headlines in the newspapers are all that people see.
PS. Bugger giving up animal products, I like my super low fat bacon too much.
