have a good one..gym time getting in a 5 mile breeze
This is where we come to the next conundrum for people, define "sugar" as fruit, veggies, grains, even milk, contains a form of sugar and you do need that.

The ADDED sugars, the processed shit which is empty calories designed, like excessive salt, to be a flavour enhancer is a different matter but, like with eggs and fats in times not so long ago, the call goes out that "ALL sugar is bad" and that's when people are more likely to fuck themselves up as big scary headlines in the newspapers are all that people see.

PS. Bugger giving up animal products, I like my super low fat bacon too much.

Bacon is tasty. I've got two pigs going to the butcher in the morning. @wascaptain I run a 5k at least daily at a pace of 5min 47sec a mile with my weight vest of 75 lbs it's a 7 min mile if I put the vest to the max 150 its definitely slower. I also use my training mask on regular during lifting set at 18000 ft. All with the power of bacon.

5 miles in 70 mins? You would have lapped me at least 4 times.

On a good day I can hobble at 1mph, on a "normal" day that drops to 1kph

On a bad day it takes me 10 mins to do 100 yards.

If it's a REALLY bad day I stay at home.

Without bacon I wouldn't have anything to live for and no reason to go out

Power to the pigmeat, comrade, for it is the true meaning and giver of life

I was on strict Keto diet for two months, primarily to heal my gut. I've introduced a little more fruit since then and my weight is holding steady now some 4 or 5 months in. Getting off processed foods with lots of sugar has greatly increased my energy levels, but be warned, transitioning to Keto off a high sugar diet is no picnic. After a couple weeks it gets easier as you have a new all day level of energy and focus. But that diet is not for everyone, especially middle aged women who have had mono or Epstein Bahr Virus, probably other medical conditions too, so do some research. In my case it was the best thing I ever did for my health.

It's hard to stay in shape and fit when you are just staying at home and cook for your family. I do that everyday and only a few exercises. I want to establish my goal in losing weight and focus on maintaining my ideal weight. But, how fast can I get in shape? Can you tell me some tips?
Hello, before I say anything, this is based off my personal experience and from what I’ve seen in others along their journey. Nothing about this will be based off science or anything like that.
Losing body fat, maintaining body weight, and staying healthy depend on a lot of other things than just excercise. Give us some background on how you carry out your days. What types of excercises are you doing? Are most of the hours spent sitting down or working at a desk? Does your work require a lot of manual labor?.. Anything that gives us a general idea about calorie expenditure in a single day. Also, what’s your calorie Intake for a day? It doesn’t have to be exact but a rough estimate. These things should be balanced. Not only that but what are you doing after eating large meals? Do you go outside and play with the kids or do you sit down and watch tv for the rest of the day?.. Your metabolism will play a huge role in maintaining your desired body weight.
And these types of things take time..sometimes years. It’s really kinda up to you tho : intensity and frequency of the excercises, diet, lifestyle, etc.

Fasting is the best way I have seen. Just takes willpower. Gradually lower the size of the plates you eat and how often you are eating.

About 4 years ago at 57 years old I started working out . I could barely tie my own shoes . I had a 40 inch waist and was on my way to a 42.
I had a stationary bike in a spare bedroom.
When I started I weighed 270 lbs. I think I did 2 miles and was beat but slowly started increasing my time and mileage.
I now do about 12 miles a session in around 50 minutes. My weight ATM is 190 lbs.
I cut out sodas and almost anything with added sugar. I eat more healthy now but still crave ice cream that I do have on occasion.
I now work out 4 times s week .
I do believe that by cutting out sodas and watching your sugar intake most people would be surprised at how much weight they could lose with little to no exercise .
Working out now has become second nature to me . I actually look forward to that time !

How fast will depend on many factors - how much you have to lose (because there is only a healthy amount you can shed in a week or a month), your diet (some encourage weight loss or maintaining your ideal weight better than others), if you will have physical activities besides your diet, and the time you will allot for them. There is also plateauing which you can factor in, so go steady and be patient.

but if you eat an apple it also contains lots of other stuff which are healthy to process calories to begin with... and which throttle sugar assimilation... you need to avoid processed sugar esp. dissolved one like in Limo... drives your blood sugar swiftly high... get sick in the long run
