But you have 16 boards. The cumulative effect must be considered. When I had one 288 at 100w, that made for 33w per square foot (in my cab); not so much.

Just curious if any you guys were even entertaining them in your builds .

As far as the optics ....
I heard you had to “ glue “ them on , and that immediately turned me off to them .
I like the reflectors for the quantum’s.... and use them.
Let’s know what’s coming after that tree comes down.

Regarding fin spacing. What would you consider a good ball park range or at least a minimum fin spacing for complete passive?

I purchased a couple dozen 1’ sinks from China on eBay for almost a buck a piece free shipping. 24 sinks for $30. Thought it was a killer deal for strip builds but the fins are very tightly spaced.

all lights run 12" - 18", some of the colas are definitely above that

They do not need to be that high at 100w per board more like 18" if you had any issues it was probably defeciency not bleaching

Explain how I've grown hundreds of plants since the first batch of quantum boards without having that problem also when you quoted me I was saying 18"

I have had like 2 phones since I ran anything that close the pics are probably between page 100-200 in this thread they started looking really stressed at like 6" I let the plants get within 4" just to see what would happen I think at that time I was running 9 qb over a 4x4 at around 850w so not quite 100w per board. I would call what you are saying broscience do you have par measurements for the bleaching? I would like to know what ppfd cause the bleaching for you I've had no problems running over 1000ppfd I measure with an apogee mq500 so it should be a pretty accurate measurement on my part

Search eBay for “300mm heatsink”. There are many different sellers of 300mm*25mm*12 heatsinks.
Shipping is free.
Offer them a low price first and negotiate from there.

Well, that's odd seeing that I've run 4 QB304 @ 90 watts and I've had it as close as 14" , even had a couple grow into the light during an out of control grow, those that got real close burned. My fault, I over vegged when my timer didn't kick in properly.....

Due to the sizing imo they're badass, but the reality is, me running 132 boards only means I'm running even less light than a 288, n they're still spanking ass.


At 100 watts per qb they'd need to be 2 - 3 feet up to keep from bleaching. At that height the only thing you're doing efficiently, is lighting the walls. In a tent it's not the end of the world, in a room or open space it's a joke.

n It's not about deep pockets, 4x 132 = like $133, and V1 Qb288s can currently be had for $50 a wack, none need heatsinks if run at low power making the build cheap af and lightweight.

Imo the issue is people keep trying to use these things like a cob build rocking angelinas while running 100 watts per cob @ 3 feet up. Quantums are fucking incredible but they're not spotlights, in fact they're prolly the least focused light source I've ever run. photons going phucking everywhere!. But if ya dial emm down and keep them close'ish, imo they're incredible.

I haven't sidestepped anything you don't even have any pics to show the so called bleaching plenty of pics all over that contradict what you have said and not 1 from you. I never said a defeciency would cause bleaching your really trying your best to put words in my mouth. I just don't think you know the difference between defeciency/bleaching so you think you see bleaching but that's not really what's going on.

I have a 2x2 dialed in perfectly for my needs. Ive gotten a 120gram harvest out of it every month for almost a year. im using the 135w kit with a fan attached. 2x2 is 53inches i think. Grow from seed and i top the plants at day 20 and start 12/12. At the end of harvest the top buds are 4-6 inches from the board and i get very little bleaching or burning. im about 2-3 weeks from harvest now and they are 8 inches from the board. My plants are picky and usually need a gallon a day and then stop drinking water fairly early and i do get some burns if they do that extremely but when i notice this i just turn the lights off and let them finish in the dark for 3-5 days. This happens at 50% orange pistils, But its not usually a issue.

Already posted this pic on this very thread many pages ago. This bud was within 12" of my 288 @135 watts for at least the last 3 weeks of flower.... no bleaching.

Warp Core is now on-line .....


Took down the 4000 k QB 288 and installed the new one .
The remaining 288 dual QB ( 3000k 90 cri ) kit is still in place and running with the core.

260w QB 288 3000k 90cri ( 2 ) board with dimmer
( 2 ) QB V2 96 power - 320 watt with dimmer

I Noted that the linear pot on the 320 driver goes complete off ( Black )
Installed the Pure Uv Agromax T5 and daisy chained to the 10000k finisher lamp.
2 6500k Bulbs are available for seedling starts ( T5 lamps on only ) or for some spectrum mixing.

The QB 96s are ridiculously bright by themselves...... so the dimmer helps control things.

Power : about 580w total

But for the 3x3 space I created it will be dialed down or each rig running separately.
