led lover lol 600 bucks to build one or 82 bucks from ebay for a mag ballast 600w hps which u would no will pull more then 2 ouncesOr click on rob's avatar, then click ignore. Goodby rob.
Thats what im currently usingwhy bother save yourself a shit tone of disappointment and buy a hps
just get another hps or mh mate cmh are killa and led will not match a cmh in a million yearsYes , for right now, these new lights will be for flower room only.

by the time u get the lights u need u are gunna be saving bout 30-60 bucks on a power bill dude i live in south aus we have the highest power costs in the world yet i am fine to pay my billsThats what im currently using
600w MH/HPS
electricity cost a fortune here, trying to be long term efficient. I have seen the threads about hps vs led, this isnt one of them, i know HPS grows DANK, but i think LED or cobs will fit my needs and environment better.
cant even buy leds if i wanted 2 no hydro shop here stocks em not 1 u ask about leds they laugh u out the doorThats what im currently using

Thats good info , thanksI would stay away from 630cmh, they use 2 315 bulbs , this will double upkeep cost .
I change my DEs every couple crops @$115 each .
I can start to see a drop after two, if an oz is worth 100 n you lose 2 oz by going 3 crops, it’s not worth running old bulbs .
DEs are very hot, so when you add up cooling & more power usage , Good LEDs are your long term , best bang for your buck
But I’m still unsure if they can equal the penetration of a DE.
same thing everyone says to hot well a hps only run 10c hotter and to costly well chose another hobby then maybe meth cooking ?Thats good info , thanks
I have been swaying towards the cobs/leds for a few different reasons, mainly electricity costs and heat concerns i think i will have every month except winter months.
I did have a good look at the cmhs and 1000w de tho, but as you said, theres reasons to chose other lighting.
but you will get better run from a cmh 630Thats good info , thanks

I have bigger plans ahead robby the time u get the lights u need u are gunna be saving bout 30-60 bucks on a power bill dude i live in south aus we have the highest power costs in the world yet i am fine to pay my bills

they only run at 4-6 c hotter
You'll only need 600w of high Umols/joule LED to put out what a 1K Single ended HPS does PPFD wise.I have bigger plans ahead rob
eventually my room will have 4 x these lights running, maybe more depending on circumstances, right now my 600w hps costs me 100.00 a month
4 x 1000w hps will cost alot more to run than 4 x 1000 led.
yes the upfront cost will hurt, but if i go diy route i can cut that down and then make up that difference after a few crops running the more efficient leds/cobs.
Thats my reasoning any, not that you care, just thought id share it with you anyway.
Thanks very much for those links. that just made my life easier lol, i was having trouble even finding the correct strips.100W F-Series strips, https://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/samsung-semiconductor-inc/SI-B8VZ91B20WW/1510-2229-ND/6676693

Datasheets for the engineer,
When you use Constant Voltage drivers, the total power is split amongst however many strips there are. So you'd wanna use something like the HLG-600H-48A.Thanks very much for those links. that just made my life easier lol, i was having trouble even finding the correct strips.
so my next question.
If i buy 10 of the strips, how many strips will that driver run? i assume i will need 2 or 3 drivers? is that correct?
Thank you to all of you for helping me with this. very much appreciate it.
Why are these hinflux so much cheaper?100W F-Series strips, https://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/samsung-semiconductor-inc/SI-B8VZ91B20WW/1510-2229-ND/6676693

Well the HLG600 is 600 watts so another 320 would be 920. I'd just build 2 fixtures though using 5x 4ft strips per build and throw an HLG600 on each one. You get a discount on Digikey once you get to 10+ anyways. So that is $508 for the 10 strips, $349 for the drivers and maybe $100 for the frame and everything else you'd need, totalling like $950.Ok that made sense to me lol
So if i want to build them same wattage as the timbers 800-950watts
how many strips and which driver will i be using?
Sorry for what must seem like ridiculous questions to you guys, i wasnt lying when i said i didnt know much about this lighting stuff. I do know efficiency tho and ive seen the bud these lights grow, so its worth asking dumb questions lol

That's if strips are you're choice.
Go with COBs though and use citizens at $10-15 a piece, I can hook you up with an Alibaba seller who can get you Pin Fin heatsinks for cheap. You just need to order like at least 20.
That way you could get all the lighting engine components for like $250-300 in cobs and $300-350 for drivers, and $150 for sinks totalling $700-800.
