From what you've said it seems like you have had a very troubled past, possibly still a very troubled person. Hopefully your obsessions are only causing harm to your plants and not humans as well.

Your obsession with sexually deviant acts and the reproductive parts of the plant being somehow broken is likely linked.

Really is a wild random guess here, could it possibly be a little too much calcium?
I can't say i've really had that before, besides immature seeds, but i do believe you.
There's generally a lot of calcium in a seed.
Not suggesting it's the case, but wondering if it's a possibility?

Freaking random, but i was thinking how a human fingernail is fairly similar to the shell of a seed in a way. That's what made me think of it.
Anyway after that i think i need a smoke, I'm gonna go have one.

Just wanted to share my thoughts.

It crossed my mind for a minute or two maybe weeks back but I dint dig into it. You may be onto something . I don’t use cal mag but I use plenty of lime and my tap water does seem to be excessive in calcium. Lots of white build up on metal fauwcets and what not

jjst saw your comment about fems. I suspect that it actually does have to do with them being fems but I could Be wrong. The majority of other guys who’ve had the issue that I’ve talked to had them from fems. Subcool was even saying in a forum that fem plants can cause “microseeds” and this is why he refused to do fems. I firmly believe he meant the ovules when he said micro seeds. It’s what I described the ovules as at first until I realized they were ovules. I feel that because a fem seed came to existance without a Y chromosome involved in pollination, the plant knows thins and makes immediate adjustments by instilling genetic predisposition for larger ovules in its offspring. Larger ovules means more fertility and more fertility boosts chances of catching and making a seed with the good male pollen. The plants want the male pollen. Seems it’s just what’s more natural or preferred for whatever reason. I mean the plant obviously doesn’t think, but nature has a smart way of going about its business. I believe there’s is another factor involved that is bringing out this large ovule trait that they’re predisposed to having because of the fem process. The factor could be my tap water. I highly suspect it. Never a crackling ovule in my grows until the day I ordered fems. All fems and all ovules since. Going back to regular seeds now

I seem a little late to the party but just signed up,so i am new here,but long time grower,and for the first time ever i am experiencing this problem with a heavy sativa dominant,don't know the strain,a buddy give me a clone last year ,and i got one seed from it,i don't remember the clone crackling like this. I have a few times smoked some like this but first time i grew any,and is just like you pictured in every calyx,and sparks/crackles sometimes when burning.

All that said,she did get a little nute burn from excess nitrogen early on,so maybe that contributed, i really have no idea,this plant didn't take to nutes very well,but have slightly burnt plants in the past,and never had these calyx rocks.

The plant is 9 weeks in,looks to have several more to go yet,and is otherwise healthy now,and has huge colas,and these where there that i noticed a couple weeks into bud cycle,got smaller and turned dark,and hard,none have got bigger or turned into a actual seed,so it has not been pollinated,i got a little foxtailing as expected with a heavy sativa and i can pull new calyx from them a week in and they already be dark,and hard. Its weird stuff. This plant been a pain from the start,hope it pays off regardless of the firework buds

Actually my early test samples seem like it won't be to bad,and has a nice lemony,piney smell/taste,but it crackles,lol. In a bowl,they seem to burn up in a hit or so,then the rest is crackle free. I don't plan on growing no more though,even if i did get a seed from it,only had the one from a clone last year,but i don't remember it crackling,and i only grow for myself.

ive posted about this probably a dozen times in different forums and nobody seems to know the cause of larger than normal ovules. Hell, a lot of people have never heard of such an issue. Seems I’m quite good at producing plants with large ovules inside all of the brachts that effect taste and often crackle a bit. The ovules are green in younger brachts and eventually shrink just the tiniest bit and are brown, gray kind of color in older swoll brachts. Not seeds for sure. There’s a difference. Pictures are of newer ovule and older ovule. If you break up a gram of this bud and look around, you can gather a hundred of these things. Has happened to all plants of all 7 strains last three grows. Never had the issue when using regular brick weed seeds. Issue started and has persisted since ordering seeds from breeders. My plant has them. I think they are flowers trying to grow or haven't grown because plant is concentrated on buds now. They smell good when you pop them open, almost smells like the buds on my plant. I'm 5 weeks in flower.
