This is their momma. I got her for $5 at a garage sale, a few years ago and she has given me many starts. The hand made pot she was in then was worth more than $5!

Edit: Nice weather! Lol. We had a dusting, this am, but it's gone now. We're still a couple weeks away from nice temps, as well.

Very nice plant.. are snow was all but gone then we got hit with 14+ inches overnight a couple of days ago.. three years ago I had plants in the ground first week of April.. I'm not seeing any plants in the ground until mid may.. maybe earlier if we get a heat wave or something.

Nice,, I'm sure the teacher will enjoy them..
When I drill holes in ceramic or glass I use a 1/8 to 1/4 inch Mason bit and put my drill on the hammer setting.. works pretty good..

Here's my 44 yo T. Pachanoi PC, mail ordered from the Sacred Cactus Garden in Albuquerque in 1975. She's over 10 feet tall and 7 inches in diameter at her widest. Blooms every fall for about 3 days.

looks like it might be some kind of Cereus, but i couldn't find one with the tufts of needles like that.


Cereus hildmannianus, possibly, also called 'fairy castle cactus"....
