Nice! Some of those seeds should pop a friend of mine gave me some unknown seeds he claims are from the 1970s and older guy and I've got that one going in my veg and another one if I can find the picture let me see have no idea what they are though
remember to add in weak superthrive. Or there are other things you can add in. You're going to need something to have any hope at all.No nothing happened,Ill try sand paper on the next round. The tap root popped out but thats as far as it went.
I have enough going on as it is so Ill wait for spring and try them outdoors.
Domes and seed germination is a good way to get dampening off.I don't know yet how well this might work, just a little do-it-yourself idea that I had so I figured I would share
soak them till they sink. ad some super thrive to your water. i would use some gibberelic acid, but if you're not comfortable using things like that, you should still be able to get some results. if they will pop a tail out, then kind of give up, they probably don't have enough moisture stored anymore, soaking them till they sink ought to help them rehydrate before you pop them.I don't know yet how well this might work, just a little do-it-yourself idea that I had so I figured I would share
20+ years is pushing it, but if they've been wrapped up tight and refrigerated for all that time, i would expect to get at least a few. maybe 20%...maybe more if you get luckyNow that is some solid info
maybe, i don't sit and watch for them to sink, but i do plant them pretty much as soon as i notice they aren't floating anymore. i don't think they were drowned, though. they're just old....the healthiest ones still ought to be good, the ones that weren't in a-1 shape to begin with are probably dead by now. just have to winnow through them and see what you get.The first couple were soaked for about 20 hrs then into paper towel. Took 12 hrs to get them to sink.
Maybe was to wet?
do u notice a odd color of the tails that do pop?or are they whiteThe first couple were soaked for about 20 hrs then into paper towel. Took 12 hrs to get them to sink.
Maybe was to wet?they did pop in the water. Once in the paper towel they did nothing. I planted them in rockwool and only one grew out about another 3/8 of an inch. It’s still there. Will be garbage soon.
Too wetThe first couple were soaked for about 20 hrs then into paper towel. Took 12 hrs to get them to sink.
