I can’t believe everyone is more concerned with finding someone to blame. No ones to blame bar the person pulling trigger. Fucking hell
It's perfectly normal to ask "why?" and look for answers - especially in a much safer part of the world where this is far from commonplace. When shit goes sideways in growing, don't you look for a reason and try to fix it? Seems to me you guys found people to blame for your towers going down, and started a whole war over it - so don't talk to me about finding 'blame'. It's more than that.

Sure, the person pulling the trigger is to blame. But we got that pesky little detail all wrapped up with a ban on automatic weapons in 24 hours. Imagine that. Still doesn't answer the "why?' question though, does it?

There's such a thing as 'fanning the flames' - which is a common thread woven into the Quebec mosque gunman, the murdered Maryland journalists, and the asshole in New Zealand, in that they found inspiration from the propaganda being spewed upon your country. You're not in a bubble. The world is watching. And it's not a good look.

I'm not here to fight, or argue. But to deny culpability or influence at this point is a case of wilful denial. :peace:

"no one may judge me based on how i dress (or don't dress). now stand back while i rant about how i can't trust muslims based on how they dress"
That didn’t make an ounce of sense. How I’m dressed in a provocative photo obviously isn’t my day to day attire. But if that’s the only mental image u have of me now, then again, your problem not mine.

As for the head coverings in Congress, Id validated and I couldn’t give two hoots I’ve said that before.

Please leave sexuality out of this.

Pffft, like I said earlier, the way u belittle me is no fucking different to someone with a racist attitude towards a Muslim. You can’t run around screaming discrimination when ur the finest perpetrator of it.

Yep, you are right. She did say women in Burkas frightened her. Because it might be a man who wants to rape her.

Was that bigotry or unreasonable fear? It was ignorant, that can be said with certainty.
Omfg!! It’s IGNORANT of me to think a “woman” in headress on a path coming towards me at night could be a man planning to attack me??
Are u a fucking woman? Do u know what’s it like to be a woman?
Ignorant or cautious and untrusting of MEN and lengths they go to to attack women!

In a former thread, you said you feared somebody wearing a burqa. As I recall, you said it was because you were creeped out because a guy could be hiding behind it.

It's not exactly a racist attitude but racists have that attitude.

Agree that you are catching unfair flak for tangential differences in attitudes towards body image and attire.

I get your concern. I'm just asking. Do you fear a car accident when you are in a moving automobile? Being attacked by a man in a burqa is a very remote possibility compared to an auto accident or some other more common event.

It's not uncommon for people to fear the unlikely and disregard the more common hazards. This is what I meant by my asking if your concern was bigotry or unreasonable fear. Both would explain it.

It would be unimportant if your attitude weren't common AND caused hardship on others but both are true. Whatever the reason for your fear, it's misplaced and that's a fact.

You’re belittling me because THATS WHAT U DO. That’s all. I don’t belittle Muslim people quote me having done so. I’ve told you a portion of my family are Muslim. You belittle me because I’m female and I speak up to sexist pigs like u

Uh, yeah. Every woman who wears a burqa is afraid of everybody else who wears a burqa just like you do.

What you are talking about is your fear, not anything approaching a real threat. Most women are raped by people they know. Are you afraid when a man you know walks into the room? I don't think so.

Yet, you fear a person wearing a burqa "because they might rape you". There is something else going on here. It's not a realistic fear of being raped. Otherwise you'd be terrified of people you know. Your brothers, uncles, father are all a higher threat to you than a person wearing a burqa.
