It all depends on your VPD.

I grow in an area that has an abundance of dry air for most of the year, 20-30% indoors on average with the exception of late spring and summer.

Ill have to take a look into VPD what does it stand for?
Normally lights on temp is 25-27 with 45 RH, lights out its 21-23 with 25-35 depending on weather. The lights out RH is completely at the whim on nature as I run a 4 setting (no automatic stop at certain humidity) humidifer so it stays on 1-2 and turns off with my lights.

I also live in an area with the same outdoor rh, only humid during the stormy season.

40% would be a bit low for the temps you stated (77-81f).

If you have enough dry air outside the tent (or room), you can just use an exhaust fan on a rh sensor controlled outlet. Set it to turn on and off a few % around your desired range. My experience has been that I can get the flower tent down to within 7% of the indoor atmosphere reliably by doing this. I too am at the whims of nature I don't run either a dehumidifier or humidifier.

I use this thing for a controller but only because it was cheap and the sensor had a long cable I could snake into the tent: search for WILLHI WH1436H 110V

Yep rh over that is conducive to bud rot but you'd need the spores too.

VPD is for all stages of the cycle but I try to maintain it most in flower.

Step one to this equation is a very common issue with new growers.

Flower time does not start until the plants begin to show flowers. So your plants might still take 8-9 weeks to mature. But that is 8-9 weeks from when try begin to flower.

Even photo period plants have genetic restrictions. You can grow them 12/12 from seed, but they won't actually start to flower until they are genetically mature and capable of reproduction. Which brings me to the second point. Was your 60day veg from germination or from when they were a little bigger and actually vegging and taking nutrients. If your counting from seed then that cuts 1-2 weeks off your be time too. So now it seems you flowered plants that were really only vegging for 4-5 weeks and I can guarantee they were immature at that point which means they will take much longer to transition to flower.

The 1-3 week transition period is commonly over looked by indoor growers for some reason. This makes people think they have been flowering longer then they really have. Then they usually harvest the same 1-3 weeks early because "the breeder said x number of weeks". Well the breeder also should have a dialed I grow an mature genetics so yeah it might only take them x number if weeks but will take you longer.

Lastly your temps aren't crazy low but they are lowing which will slow growth. A cold root zone will drastically slow growth.

ok..so heres what i did..i changed the light schedule to 10-14 and after about 3 weeks i finally saw the first pistils..kept it there for another week and increased to 11-13 which is what they are at now and gonna stay there..increased feeding regimen on one with a double dose back to back at 1/2 strength bloom feed..ph always between 6.3 and 6.6..that seemed to help greatly with the one that has the most bud..added a space heater on the lowest setting using a separate timer,,1 hour on 1 hour off to help with humidity and low temps..now they are at 55-60% rh and temps at 70-75..defoliated all of them and got rid of the fan leaves and some secondary leaves on one to increase airflow on the one that was topped twice as it was very bushy at the top and light couldnt get to the lower buds..2 were lst'd throughout their entire life..i have 1 which is growing naturally with no training but little defoliation for yield comparison..they are short at 14 inches but the trunk is at an inch thick..i dont think im gonna have to stake the plants as the branches are quite thick..i had 4 but gave 1 to my buddy to make more room which im sure its just gonna die because he has absolutely no clue about anything..but it put a smile on his face when he took it home..lol...nitrogen problems seem to have been resolved..i think they are way better than what they were and im on the right track to a half decent harvest..they are at week 3 of flower as of today.(day i noticed the first pistils)...i swore i was never gonna do photos again but after fixing the issues i think i may give them another shot...gonna experiment with 12-12 from seed but with more plants added every few weeks for a continuous harvest.
Now i cant wait to do it all over again!

Sounds like you are headed in the right direction now! Personally mostly run photo plants. I don't like the lack of control with autos, and they don't actually finish much if any faster then photo plants, that's just marketing.

Bro be sure that you definitely run less than 12 hours lights on..not 12 hours + 5 mins..12 hours or less..

The plant at 12 hours + 5 mins lights on vegetate...

I am sure u have been missing this tiny detail..and this is the prob..

There is no other explanation.!

CHECK your dimmer..if its an analog dimmer set it 11h.45 mins on and 12h.15 mins off..

Be carefull these little details which make the difference!

After you do it..you will see them explode..the stretching will start, and after a while you will see preflowers(5-10 days based on strain)!

Photoperiodic strains are far better than autos..yield and potency..
Autoflowering strains are a combination of fem. indicas/sativas and ruderalis.. Because ruderalis has less thc than indicas/sativas, the autos have also less thc than feminized, on my opinion!
The final yield is another story!

I found that a little strange myself..seen a vid on youtube and they stated plants start flowering at 13 hours on 11 off..never tried it but it makes me wonder why 13-11 isn't the norm if that's true...maybe it is true except ppl use 12-12 to make sure plant will stay flowering one it has started.

Giving plants another hour of light wouldn’t likely improve yields. I’d guess that 11/13 would be even better than 13/11. Plants can only utilize so much light. I’ve got a strain right now that doesn’t like more than 10 hours of light. But then again I’ve got 2000w on a pretty small footprint.

If someone was looking to improve yield by adjusting light schedule, I’d suggest they further perfect their plants environment first. Temperature and humidity play a huge part.
