Building your own soils takes trial and error. Along with the knowledge of what the plant is telling you when you look at it.
One of the best places to start to learn about SS or Water only soils (always keep an organic liquid feed around - you will have to use some at some point till you get a soil formula dialed in. I have
always liked Age Old organic nutrients for this. I always have some around,, best damn pumpkin and squash nutrient around! - Use the bloom for that....)

I do mainly organic WO soils and have different formula's for different strain needs..I do one basic veg soil and several bloom soils...This is one big step beyond single soil use.....I find it more effective and giving more specific results by strain needs.
I do still do some synthetic use....Fun in a way... I have settled in (after many years) on the Botanicare KIND line. This is so simple and easy to adjust delivery rates as needed.
Jacks Citrus would be the powder nutrient I would say to perfect use with first. As a powder anyway. It contains higher S content and that delivers superior trich and terp production/expression...
