Sen. Bernie Sanders finished ahead of Joe Biden in the first major national poll of the year that did not find the former vice president leading the pack of potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidates.

When asked whom they would support from a list of 20 candidates – including "someone else" – 29% named Sanders, and 24% named Biden in an Emerson College poll released Monday. They were trailed by South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, who was the pick of 9% of likely Democratic primary voters.

California Sen. Kamala Harris and former Texas Rep. Beto O'Rourke each came in at 8%, and 7% picked Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro got 3%, as did entrepreneur Andrew Yang. New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker got 2%, and the rest of the field got 1% or less.

This doesn't look good to me, because I don't see how an avowed Socialist has any chance of being POTUS in 2020.

I got a feeling Trump is smiling.
polls aren't shows..

do you honestly see the repub lead senate, the same people who have stood behind trump thus far, indicting him on any charges the house may impeach him on? sadly, i don't see that happening..
Not this Senate. This isn't the 1970s. The Republican Party cares only about advancing their banner - even if it means destroying everything good about the country.

Al Franken's trouble was sexual in nature. Joe is just an old school pol who grew up when hugging was the way things were done. There has never been anything come up in his past of a sexual nature. He is an honorable man who scares the hell out of the progressives, so you can expect his name to get smeared even more.
yeah like the cab guy down the street who used to let me answer the phone and call him over the CB for riders, then chase me around the kitchen table to tickle me in my privates at age 11.

it was all just a game- right? he was like an 'uncle' to me in his 50's..

Sanders and Biden would be much better. Either would smoke Pence.

I get that the crap progressives and Republicans have dredged up about Biden is not anything sexual in nature. It is not acceptable without some understanding and closeness between the two but it's not a good reason to reject Biden as a candidate.

I vote according to values and principles in the primary. I vote tactically in the general election which means I vote for Democrats in November.

What I don't get is why I should vote for Biden in the primary? What makes him a better candidate than the others? Unsubstantiated claims that he's "more electable" doesn't do it for me. I haven't heard anything from him policy-wise at all. In absence of policy statements, what did he do while in Congress that should get me excited about voting for him?

impeachment isn't good enough. i hope the sdny, ny ag, and others indict him for all his shady business deals, money laundering, rico charges, tax evasion etc and he rots in prison.

and the Trump "brand" is ruined worldwide.
i like the way you think, in fact, i love it, lol.. i too, hope this is what is what the future holds for 45.. i hope he rues the day he decided to run for office..
