Not a fight just a discussion.
Do you oppose it in veg misting the soil surface with neem oil or are you opposed to mixing it in a soil mix?
Because it is systemic?

IDK, I spotted thrip damage twice over the past year in my perpetual and it cleared up pretty fast and I attributed it to the neem but that could also be confirmation bias.
I will not discout it is effective in killing bugs, it helped me get rid of mites.

Yes, because it is systemic through the plant not just across the leaf surface like some synthetics.

Regardless of processing the neem cake will always have some azamanthrin in it so I wont use it anywhere in any form. I dont like karanja either.

No problem, bro! I've only told him what works best for me. With that neem stuff its the same like with pyretrum, it dissapears with the time. So there is probably not much left when the 3 month are done.
But I understand peeps who don't want to use systemical stuff in organic soil. Did not know anything about azamanthrine, do not even know what that is .. Is it dangerous?

I am not seeing it as a desireable trait. Those that you have pictured have very high leaf to calyx ratio and though potency may be through the roof, that ratio makes it undesireable to smoke.

Perhaps you misunderstood me. I feel the ducks foot is way more common today, I only recall seeing it on what I would call stressed plants from the mexican brick. Im older now and my memory is shit, but I just dont recall noticing it so much, I did take a 15 year break from growing too.

Edit, reread your post, I think you understood me fine, I am the one with comprehension issues.
Yeah, I know these triploids are not "best quality", neither potency nor consistence.
It's just an example what a slight mutation can do. I'm not searching for triploids but for slight mutations on healthy plants like those tiny leaves.
Todays strains are crossed back and furth and they all are based on skunk, northerlights and haze genetic and here and there a new landrace crossed in. So no wonder that almost every strain has a few purple afghan genes in it for instance and can show purple colors under the right conditions.
For this reason I believe all strains today have tendencies to get slight mutations and out of 10 seeds you'll probably find at least one plant with some kind of mutation.

Here is how I use sticky traps.
I cut long strips from each sheet, about 10 to 12 strips.
Easy to lift out the old one and get rid of it. Easy to set the new strip in place.
I replace them every 3 or 4 weeks.

I made my own traps one time with tangle trap sticky coating and it worked great but was a big mess to deal with.

I get 20 sticky traps from china for $10 free shipping on e bay.

Still haven't tried sand or DE rocks. I will try them at some point just to add to the arsenal.

I had the coolest little 3/4 inch long centipedes in my perpetual once but they died off.
Never had a chance to see if they would have made an impact on my fungus gnat larvae. They probably didn't or people would be using them. I freaked out the 1st time I saw one in my pot lol.

I tried mosquito dunks, took a hammer to them and put them in cheese clothe and soaked for a few days in water then reused till dissolved over several weeks while small bits are watered into the plant. Plants handled it great but I'm not sure it worked well. Might try the bottled BT.

Might as well list the rest lol.
I use Neem Oil in veg and like to think it is a deterrent to thrip activity.

I also use Ivory mixed with water.
Last I use Pyrethrin on occasion to mix things up.
Could be something else but that's all I can think of.

Nice method. I have moved myvtraps below the top line of pott after your suggestion & ur right. They do work better.
Justcstarted using T-Drops (Tanlin)myself. Thought my Misqito bits wete being uptaken byvthe plant & stcdodnt like thst. Have been using them for some time now tho & they kill larva. 20190418_230613.jpg

I enjoy conversations like this and would like to agree with you on the 6 and 8 blade leaves because I have a plant from old seed that has both.
She will be cloned and I hope she grows some nice buds. :)
Is this the look?

Looks promising, bro! That's exactly what I mean!
I'm sure she will end up being a strong and healthy heavy weight champion.
Plants with this "feature" have never dissapointed me and this one looks already nice and healthy.

I would just cut the lowest two branches off when she goes in the flowering room. The lowest twigs always root the fastest cuz of almost no stored auxins and low nitrogene levels. And when she really ends up being the keeper I think she is, you already have two 5-6 weeks old clones to further work with.
Do you only have this one or are there more plants of the same strain to compare them results?

Edit!
Transplant her as soon as possible she wants a bigger pot and more nutes. I see spindly thin twigs and two rusty spots on the lowest leaf.

possibly because I'm a stoner and it's actually Azadirachtin? It is the active in azamax and is one of what are thought to be many mechanisms contained in neem and neem products that have pesticide, fungicide, miticide properties.
Because we do not fully understand the mechanisms and materials (chemicals) at play with neem and the one we seem to have a grasp on is systemic plant wide (in other words can be taken from roots to both old foliage and growing plant tips is why I have reservations about it.
Is it dangerous? I saw only one case where a fatality was attributed to an Indian man habitually covering himself with neem oil, cause of death listed as neem toxicity. I don't necissarily see it as dangerous but as something that adulters the product.

I will look to see if other plants have a similar look.
I totally agree with the need to transplant.
All of my vegging plants were beginning to suffer not being transplanted.
I started 14 seeds with the intention of flowering 5 in the Ultimate competition.
I chose the 1st 5 plants with 10 or more leaflets to run in the comp and transplanted those to 5 gallon pots. These transplanted plants have 10 and 12 leaflets, not sure if there are 6 and 8, I'll look.
My LED tent will be available soon and I'll use it as a veg tent.
I have a nasty cold and have been moving slow for the last few days.
I haven't had a toke today, I must really be sick. :)
The plant you like will be transplanted soon.

Ah, okay, thanks!
I think the dose makes the poison like as with all substances! If you are crazy enough to cover your skin daily with large quantities of neem oil the stuff could penetrate the skin barrier and with the time you probably reach toxic levels.

Plays no roll if it's a 4th, 6th, 8th or 10th leaflet. It's the same mutation...
Get well, bro! Hope you recover soon..
And much luck for the ultimate comp..

Finally it's done! Exactly 13.5 weeks from seed to finish. Hope for +40g, maybe more..
She smells woody and kush like with a heavy afghan hashish undertone. Pretty good flower to leaf ratio; the whole job was done in ~15 mins.
full side view.jpg half is done.jpg nice top cola.jpg

Now the many nodes caused by the coolwhite sidelight are paying back. 12 twigs, 8 bigger ones, 4 small ones and a ~12" long top cola..
12 twigs + main cola.jpg

Almost no trichomes on the leaves but all the more so on the flowers..

trichome close up, yummy!.jpg

And finally all hanging on a leash for ~a week.
Then I'll snipp them off, manicure them again and the go into a paper back for the 2nd half of the drying process. It slows the process down and this helps the microbes to convert more clorophylls into sugars. There is not enough time to cure them properly and this method is probably the best if you only have a certain amount of time.

And a few more picture of the root ball! Was hard to get the cup off of the root ball but I got it off without damage. Root look a bit pinkish-brown because Maxibloom is pink and I've added organic stuff like kelp extract, humidic acids and MycorrMax.
I've put it into a bucket of water to open the root ball and get a final look on the tap root. But that takes a while..

No2 and No3 are still alive but they get another week or two..

So, does "by May 1st" mean we have to harvest no later than April 30?
I'm gonna have a decision to make next week I think

Harvest until 1st may.
Show pictures of each week with final weight and reasons why we should vote you until the 10th.
Vote until the 15th..
and the winners must pick up their prize within 24h or he has to take what's left.

So when you get your buds dry within 10 days you could wait another few days.

Thank you for clarifying :bigjoint:
I was just not sure if May 1counted as a harvest day.

Well I measured the top half of my plants weight and I wont say the weight as im waiting on a new scale to confirm the weight. If its right I beat the record by quite a bit. I still have to harvest the other bottom half soon so I wont post the official weight probably until mqy 10th or so.

I can not say if my girl can beat that 48g record, it's a lot! It will anyway take a while until I can weigh the final outcome.
I wonder a bit; your pretty solid nugs are already dry enough? I'll give mine as much time as possible, ~15% residue moisture is almost optimal IMO and I will do it like always. Either she will do it or not...
Seems at least it ends up being a head to head race, bro!
