I currently run KIND by botanicare in my DWC set ups Can some folks give me the real deal about advanced nutrients Are they really that great? Can you still adjust the PH? Are they compatible with Hydroguard and Cal Mag plus by botanicare. Not trying to be rude when I say this next part I don't want a sales rep. I just want some info from some people that are currently using or have used this line of nutrients I am pretty happy with botanicare but I am very intrigued by the PH part of this. as always thank you in advance for any help

AN pH Perfect is for RO water & yes you can still adjust the ph, yes to the Hydroguard.
If you're not using RO water, you probably won't need CalMag.
I use AN Sensi A&B, tap water, B52 and a Bud Enhancer, I've been getting pretty good results.

I used advanced for a run in soil only difference I seen between it and general hydroponics was price. I get just as good with general so I use that again. Why spend the xtra money when you have to ph it anyway with that said I still use big bud and love it

I tried AN ph perfect and didn't like it. The results were poor compared to my GH Flora 3 part. The pH kept rising up to 7, I use RO water 4 to 5 PPM. I had to use a lot of pH down and it would rise right back up in 6 to 8 hours. The aroma and flavor was not nearly as good as with the GH nutes. FWIW I didn't have any luck with them and I called them to start and ran exactly like they said to.

I used AN connoisseur about 3 years ago,maybe? . DO NOT adjust the PH, don't even check it or you'll drive yourself crazy. You'll fuck up the self balancing properties, causing lockout and it'll precipitate salts out of the solution. I learned that the hard way, having sever deficiencies until I stopped adjusting the PH. After I stopped, it turned into one of my better grows up to that point. I saw pH ranging from low 5s to low 7s when I let it do its thing and the plants looked great.
The PH balancing doesn't seem to work with additives other than AN, IME. Hydroguard was fine though, it's a biological additive, not a nutrient.
I'm not a fan of the company, but it is a hydro nute I'd recommend for a novice who wants to get into hydro without buying both meters right away. I'd still recommend a EC meter.

I ran AN for about 3 grows.. the ph perfect wasn't so perfect with tap water(38ppm) .. i would get problems in flower with calcium deficiencies and when i added calmag it destroyed the ph perfect.. I moved back to canna for my base nutes although i still use some AN additives like b52 and overdive.. canna has great buffers in and only needs adjusting every other day.. canna Aqua vega.. oh and its half the price almost of AN.
oh and you shouldn't adjust the ph with ph perfect but if you are gonna use it use RO water..

I had the same issues as Renfro...it worked, and I'm sure it could've been something I had done that cause such severe PH swings, but Floranova was way more PH stable and not to mention easier to use as it's an all-in-one bottle formula, no mixing x amount of part A and x amount of part B...just a Grow bottle and a Bloom bottle.
*EDIT* And I agree with neckpod...way to overpriced compared to very effective alternatives that, at least for many individuals, are far more stable in regards to PH.

The "PH Perfect" doesn't mean it's PH stable, it swings through the PH range continuously. The way I understand it, there are pH controlling elements/chems in it that are coated. PH lowering elements are coated with something that dissolve in a basic solution, pH raising elements/chems are coated in something that dissolves in acidic solutions. As the solution pH swings one way or the other, the coatings dissolve, releasing pH adjusters. The solution swings the other way, dissolving the other coating, swinging PH back the other way. I had found some research papers about the technology, but IDK where right now.

I have been using PH perfect for nearly 2 years now and i love it. My understanding is that it is chelated? and allows absorption of nutrients at a much wider ph range...? I have tried adding it to my tap water (ph of around 8.5!) and had no deficiencies or lockout. My ph initially went to 5.7 - 5.8 consistently and never ph'd up or down. From my experience plants do look and grow more vigorously with RO water. I have used both the connoisseur line and sensi line and didn't really notice much difference other than the price. I no longer bother with a PH pen. The only thing i would recommend is changing your res water around every 10 days (pretty standard stuff anyway) so you get a fresh supply of ph perfect nutes. I do add Cal/mag usually in flower but at like a quarter strength (strain dependant) as it will take your PPM up considerably and adds a bit of nitrogen to the mix. Personally i couldn't imagine having to adjust ph daily or every 2nd day again...... soooo much unecessary work lol. Thats just my experience. Hope it helps!!

I used the base 2 part ph perfect line grow/bloom formulas in soil grows and the weed came out ok just not a lot of it. Now I've switched to Dwc and use less of it and am seeing way better results so far. my well water is over 100 ppm, Botanicare calmag plus, Silica blast, Superthrive and AN is used during veg and Ill drop the silica while in flower. At this point I do like and would recommend them if you can cough up the dough BUT that said my next grow im tryin GH 3 part for shits n giggles and very soon will just buy megacrop.

Yeah it's hard to compare soil yields to DWC yields....is why I love DWC so much. And honestly, I feel that it's easier not having to worry about watering and individual feedings, soil composition, etc etc...just fill it up with water and add a source of O2. And add nutes, obviously.

yes i added it before i added anything else.. the issue was only in mid to late flower.. tbh i have the same success with canna and the buffers in them work wonders... the ph perfect wasn't worth the extra issues i was getting and didn't want to run RO water so binned it.. like i said i do still use some of there additives like b52 and overdrive.
