I don't like to destroy your dreams, buddies, but..
...lol! I've read only the 1st few words of the article and there is already a lot of BS.
They claim for instance 12/12 from seed takes 7-9 weeks and that's the dumbest bullshit I've ever read.
If you start 12/12 the plant will keep herself in the vegetative stage until she has developed a solid enough base. You'll see the first few preflowers the earliest in week 2-3; often in week 4. From this point on it takes another 6-10 weeks until the plant is ready to chop. This mainly depends on genetic and sativas can need more like 5 weeks to start flowering.
Same goes BTW for automatics and for this reason almost all of them need longer like the breeder mentioned in the describtion.
You now my party cup girl..
One rule was strictly 12/12 from seed and I've chopped her at day 97 so exactly 14 weeks from putting the seed in the soil to harvest(germination 2 days later). First preflowers at day 31. If I calculate 7-10 days for a normal grown plant(3 weeks veg) to react to the switch to 12/12 and show preflowers she has kept herself in veg for at least 20 days.
The Amnesia mother of this strain usually needs 11-12 weeks so if I add 3 weeks of veg I've only safed a few days or maybe a week but therefor the plant was much smaller like one grown with 3 weeks veg.
So 12/12 from seed is only a little faster compared to 2-3 weeks veg + flowering stage but you need 30% more plants to get the same yield because of smaller plants.
I've tried that technique in the past and only few few strains are done in 10 weeks. Top44 or other fast finishing indikas.
You anyway don't get record breaking THC levels from such fast strains and with 12/12 you give away a lot of potential. Its much better to work with cuttings because they are genetically much older and this has a huge effect on the final thc numbers. And adult genetic has simply more potential and for this reason one get better results if you keep the plant longer in the vegetive stage.
Lets say you have cutting of an 1 year old mother and you also have a number of seedlings of the exact same strain. When you grow them side by side the seed based plants will need at least a week or two longer. You'll get slightly more yield too BUT if you do a final lab test to compare the results you'll find higher thc concentrations on the cuttings/older genetic.
For this reason I've stopped using the 12/12 from seed technique and rather use cuttings.
The older the genetic the better!!! Ask as
@Moflow his Sensistar is for sure potent as hell and there is 100% a feelable difference to seed based Sensistar. And that's not only because the breeder has updated the genetic in the mean time.
If any of your friends has a one or more years old mother of your favorite strain ask him for a few cuttings. Make one of them a new mother plant and keep that genetic as long as possible. She will constantly deliver top of the shelf quality!
Many shops in the U.S. already sell cuttings for a while so it should not be hard to find something to test it out.
Here in EU all pro's use cuttings and they all keep their mother plants as long as possible!!!
