could be a few things post a few pics some one here is sure to help but could be alot of different reasons so if you could post some pics they are sure to help out.

Might be Nitrogen Deficiency how many times you water them might be too much water as well don't see any white spots don't think it mites and mites mostly a indoor grow problem . holes in your leaves are most likely from crickets /slugs or plant hoppers .
Will try a bit more feeding for N. Watering every other day. The holes I think are due to Japanese beetles.
Any other suggestions?

I'm not to sure what that is bud i wanna say it looks like slim from a slug mixed with maybe Gnat Nix or some sort of sand? never seen it before sorry .
The leaf holes i would say the same problem as michael49 either Leaf Hoppers /crickets or Slugs try some neem oil or garlic oil if you wanna go all organic.
Fungicide soap or food grade Hydrogen peroxide mixed with water 1 a week isn't a bad idea either or if you wanna go the cheap route go with dish soap and warm water just remember you will have to wash your plants off after you use it . sorry i cant be off more help and i hope someone else who knows a lot more then i can help !!
Can only comment on what has worked for me as Fact all other info is opinion based or a straight up guess so for all the Trolls waiting to Roast me Fuck off !!

Haha. Mid April. They were under T5s and outside when it was nice (which wasnt often) until early Mat for most of them.
Worked out well. They are monsters. I have a ton of defoliating to do. Haha

Checked my pictures for exact dates, in case it will be helpful.
This is April 18...
And this is around a month later, May 17-18.
We measured them yesterday, the tallest is a BlueBerry Fem over 6 foot (10gal pot), the rest are between 5 and 6 feet (7gal pots)

My money is on crickets or hoppers. The reason I say that is because I have a plant with damage in the exact same spot, that looks very similar (not as severe), and I thought it was slugs.
So I put out a bowl of beer, and nothing. For weeks. Nada.
So hoppers and crickets is my bet.

Oh dude...I didnt even think what is gonna happen when these stretch. This is the first year I'm REALLY feeling dialed in, and the results have been extremely large plants. Haha. And now they are gonna stretch.
But honestly...how much taller can they get in 7-10gal pots? Right?

Which is similar to the damage I saw on mine. Holes in the leaves up to the vein. I thought "where have i seen that before?" And then it dawned on me.
Who else has noticed a SHITLOAD of these bastards this year?
Japanese beetles pop holes in the leaves, with the veins intact. So it stands to reason, 1 or a few of them could make the damage Mike and I are seeing.

I’ve been seeing those beetles all over my plants. Squish em as I see em, they side a absolute number on my sunflowers

I have seen them around the thing is i have not seen them directly on my plants like the slugs & hoppers just Mega Scorped " which is my version of the Super Finger Flick off the leaf " a few yesterday off my plants [ Mortal Kombat Voice over Finish Him ! ]

My plants recently became the host of those bastards as well. I set up four of those Japanese Beatle traps. Keeps the majority of them off the plants, still pick off one or two here and there.

Yeaaaa buddy. Looking real happy.
The stretch has been on my mind lately. I can tell flower is coming any day now. I know a few of them are transitioning already. And with a bunch of plants around 6 feet tall...I'm concerned things are gonna get out of hand, preventing me from protecting them thru flower. If I end up with a bunch of 7' gigantors...I cant really bring them in the garage every time it rains toward the end.
Anyone ever top right before flower? I need to research that.
