Well its not really a farm its a tent. I started this venture in April 2019, I am still new to all this, getting my second grow up and running right now. I did some upgrades for the second round.
On of the first things I learned early is I had some things wrong, mainly my light and carbon filter. My first light was a 315 CMH, nice light and well liked on the forum, it was too small for my 5X5 tent. When I bought it I was told by the shop worker it was enough for my space. And not knowing any better thats what I ended up with. I got plans for the CMH!
The filter works great, however the guy (same one that sold me the light) sold me an inline filter. When I got it out of the box I was confused, in my first thread I was asking what the hell is this. So I used what I had.
Here is the Active Air filter with Active Air 6" fan and the 315 CMH.
So after some research I settled in on a new light, and when I was getting ready to hang it I stood there looking at the current set up and was thinking how much space the filter and fan took up. With the size of the new light it would only be able to go up to the bottom of the filter.
Then it hit me get it out of there, I have an inline why not take advantage of it. I guess I put it in because thats what everyone does. So $20 at lowes and about 20 minutes it was.
Now I got all this open space.
And here is my new light.
Timber Fatty VS.
But before I could start my next grow I knew I had another problem, I needed more power. In the last weeks of the last round on a wicked hot humid day I tried running my portable AC and dehuey at the same time, and blew a fuse it was only 15A. So I had to do something, as I need to run both those at the same time and with the Fatty pulling roughly 8A on it own, along with fans and what not.
So started looking into things. I had two electricians come out to give me a bid to run a circuit or two to the room. The first one I never heard from. The second one kinda beat around the bush on giving me a price and after a week said $750. I knew what was going on, it was running the wires thru the crawl space, about 80 ft each way of crawling.
So I called on my father in law for his opinion, he has been in the area his whole life I transplanted from Detroit 13 years ago, he is a good man to have around. He said what I wanted to hear,"I know a guy"! He is friends with a guy I never met till a week or so ago, a retired electrician who looks for smaller jobs for something to do and a few bucks on the side.
He came out and quickly figured out I had 4 20A breakers already in my panel not hooked to anything. So we settled on me buying material, and paying him $240 all in cost me $400. However I was the one pulling the wire in the crawl space.
The room is small so it was hard taking a picture.
On top of the there are 2 separate handy boxes spaced to allow my timer and fan control, the top pair have there own 20A circuit, and the box on the bottom with the 4 plugs is on another 20A circuit. Thats for the AC, in tent fans and an automated watering system.
While I was in the crawl space I ran a second 12/3 wire, its not hooked up as of yet just did it for future proofing. After Christmas I am going to put 3X3 tent in the room also for vegging and will be moving this out of the way and placing the new tent here.
So this way when I decide where I need sockets the wire is right under the room in the basement, no more crawl space action. All we got to do is hook up the wire thats already in the panel, and come through the floor with conduit and place sockets. So I got access to another 40A when needed.
I have a few more small upgrades coming in the next couple days that I will share.
Now a little info on the second grow.
The strain is Bubble Gum Boogie by Moscaseeds.
All the seeds sprouted tap roots and are now in cups, only complaint is there was suppose to be 8 seeds in the pack and there were only 7.
Growing in Nectar for the Gods #4 and will be using their sample pack of nutrients as well.
Well thanks for checking out what I got going on, and hopefully you'll follow along. Please feel free to comment in this thread, I need all the help I can get.
