Hey guys, Im from bristol county area and just noticed this thread. Been growing indoors about 8-9 years now and finally doing my first real outdoor grow this year. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow if I remember. Im growing 6 plants in a raised bed I threw together real quick just to try it out. Trying to go all organic recycled soil/no till for now on so I figured it may take a few years to get it right but we'll see lol. Everybody here has such killer grows I love it
Welcome aboard! We definitely have a pretty awesome group this season.

Hows it going outdoors so far?

It’s actually going pretty well to my surprise. I didn’t get to plant until first week of July, but even after 6 weeks or so they got pretty big. I used an organic compost from a local farm in trying out so I wasn’t sure how they were gonna like it but they seem to be loving it so far

Anyone experience a ‘no stretch’ this year? I’m a bit farther to the NE in NB, Canada, but my plants never went through a stretch this summer. Consistent 3/4-1” all summer but no stretch. Last year they grew 25-30% in August once they started to flower. This year....nothing. No idea why.

I have one strain that was advertised as a no stretch indica. Never stretched and also hasnt started flowering yet. Only one out of 8 strains. Also was the one advertised as a mid to late sept finish. Way things are going wont be finished until Halloween.

The first 1 of 2 Mephisto Double Grapes is coming down tonight. I thought I could get some purpling if I held out and got the temps down but it just wasnt in the cards. I'm gonna let this ones twin stew for another week and see where that takes us....
Beautiful!!!

I talked to a seasoned pro who has been growing outdoors for 30 something years. I always try to extract as much as I can from people that know their shit. He convinced me to leave the sugar leaves on for the first time. I asked because the sugar leaves on this plant are COVERED in trichomes so I was exploring options.

Thought I'd pass on his view on the subject. Feels like hard won wisdom to me.

He said..."the smoke might be a little harsher, and they wont look like they should be in a magazine, but there will be WAY less trichomes stuck to the inside of your jar with those leaves wrapped around protecting the buds. And the dry will be slower, so the smell and the flavor will be protected and enhanced and will battle some of that harshness. And if someone doesnt want to smoke sugar leaves, tell them to peel them off before they grind it. Throw them in the keef pile..."

It's making insanely good sense to me. So I'm trying it! Haha

I mostly use my bud to make tinctures and coconut oil so it might really make sense for me to leave the sugar leaves on.

My 3 girls.

Just as a reminder - the two plants on the ends are in 5 gallon pots and the center plant is in 10 gallon - the center plant is over 6 feet and the smaller ones are about 4 1/2 feet - I'm impressed by how big these have gotten in such small pots.....
wow your pistils are already starting to brown and curl over already must be a Heavy Indica strain. And mine are in 5 Gal Fabric pots as well they are about the same 4 to 4 1/2 ft but are also 4 ft wide hahaha i call them my 4x4's :bigjoint:
