RSO vs Canna Coconut

I am trying to work out which will be the most effective. Coconut butter sounds like the easier to make & use. Is RSO just a more concentrated product or can I get the same effect as RSO out of making & using coconut infused canna coconut oil?

It’s primarily as a sleep aid but I want to get as many of the benefits as I can out of the bud I’m using.

1. CBD oil a drop under the tongue.
2. Melatonin in liqiuid from Wal Mart, Piping Rock, Swansons or other places. A drop under the tongue

RSO is good for cancer.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I’ve been there & done that. I found that cbd did not help much. I already take melatonin & valerian & some prescribed drugs.

This combo works fairly well but I do not like the side effects of the prescribed drugs so I want to move away from them. I always sleep well after a good smoke but, I don’t want to smoke weed every night.

I tried edibles a long time ago (recreationally) & found that the high was more sedative & thought it may be worth a revisit.

My understanding is that RSO has been used to treat quite a number of ailments. I thought it may be worth a pop. That said the coconut oil route seems easier & cleaner to produce. I just want to make which ever gets the most out of my bud.

I find using my own cbd oil in caps I made from isolate helps me to sleep thru the night. I used to wake up 4-5 times a night. Now just the once for a bit of drainage...age related perhaps....

I did try a cbd strain a while ago. Just the one plant. When I vaped some the high didn’t seem any different to any other Indica/dom plant. Maybe I just ended up with a pheno that was thc heavy. After that I didn’t fancy spending another 2 months growing out another cbd plant that may or not have high cbd levels.

I still have a chunk of the bud left from that plant. It’s going to go into pot with other left-over bud & trim.

I hear you on the drainage & yeah more than likely age related. That has happened with me & most of my friends of the same age. The joys of getting old!

I decided that I’m going to give coconut oil a bash. I have all the gear & some veg capsules so I’ll see what I can come up with.

I’ve got an ounce of bud spare & the trim from the last 3 grows. I’m going to decarb it & chuck it in the slow cooker with 2 litres of coconut oil. Only issue I will have will be getting the dosage right. I guess it will be a little trial & error.

IMO you'd be better off making some RSO and adding that to the coconut oil. You can make it more potent that way, so you'll only need a few drops of oil vs a tablespoon or whatever.

If you're just using coconut oil, I'd follow these steps;

Decarb weed @ 240º F for 40 minutes.
Grind decarbed weed into a powder.
Add ground, decarbed weed to coconut oil. 5g weed to 2.5 tsp coconut oil, plus 0.5 tsp sunflower lecithin (optional, but highly recommended).
Heat oil to 220º F for 20 minutes, then freeze. Repeat this step several times to make the oil "sleepier"
Capsulize and enjoy.

Using RSO or hash instead of weed is preferred, but it still works well with flower.

I tend to make the oil and then add the coconut oil.
Also agree on the Lecithin. Makes for a more consistent product.
