Someone should plot the possible fall out pattern across the southern United States for nuking a hurricane with a 5 megaton warhead, to be effective at all it will have to be an underwater blast to bring up deep cold water (maximum radioactive contamination). But 5 megatons is way too small to have any effect, now if ya put one of those warheads in a shipping container with a ton of lithium deuteride and a few tons of depleted uranium tamper to make sure the fusion fuel ignited fully. A hundred megaton deep water blast is what ya need to really bring that deep radioactive water up to the surface and throw it miles into the air, that should snuff the hurricane out, along with a lot of other things...
