Planning my first grow, thinking about the details

I'm going to grow 4 plants in a 4x4 tent, starting seeds in little cups and transplanting them to 7 gallon pots (in their final pot size of course).

How do you correctly water tinier plants in so big pots so they grow good roots, and don't drown or dry too much?

My tent is 6.5" high, at what height should i flip to flower so my plants don't grow too big? Not sure how high i can get the panels yet.

And since i have 500w LED's, how high and what power i should keep them at when having seedlings, and how to advance from there?

Do you feed fertilizers every or every second watering, or what are the "rules" here?

1. until you have runoff in the soil, dont water until their dry.
2. 1/3rd of your total height unless you know how much you're gonna stretch
3. theyre LED"s so full power, as close as you can get it, probably a foot away or so.
4. depends what your medium is. most soils have enough food in them for not needing to feed for a few weeks.

Planning to use 50/50 biobizz all mix and coco

Id do soil/perlite 60/40 in cups. Transplant to 3 gal. Once leaves pass edges of rim on cup. Go straight to a 7 or 5 from that. Dont get tall pots, depending on ur light u may need as much as 4 ft between top of plants and light. Until u kno 4 sure error on th safe side... id mainline if i was u and lst. Keepem fairly short and bushy. Depending on soil u may not need to feed 1st 2 weeks to a month. Once u start, feed every other watering.

Also watch ur humidity.. make sure u give them enough humidity when theyre babies

500 watts actually consumed? Or that’s their claim of equivalence? How many of these do you have?

I have 4 quantum boards, can adjust power output of course. That's what they draw from the wall at full power.
Alrighty then. Not Amazon blurples. Keep them high! At least 30” to start at reduced power and watch. If they start to stretch I would increase power before lowering. Personally. Good luck. Post pics on this post as you go along. It will refresh it and bring it to the top. Lots of new growers every day now. Helps everyone out really.

It's just hard to know how hard should i be running these at the start, later it might be easier to crank them up and move them closer when you can spot it. But no idea how many watts and how high i should be goin at first?

How much should the humidity be from the start to later? And how you keep up humidity especially in the start?
70% for babies
50-60 in veg
40-50 flower
This is where i find it to work best, people have diff opinions.
Doesnt have to b perfect...close as u can
Easiest thing for babies is a humidity dome.
Also i wouldnt start babies under led..thats just me

I would start at 40% power. It’s always easier playing catch-up with lights and nutrients than trying to repair damage. If they are going to stretch it will show within a couple of days. That’s the sign to increase power. If you see stretch it would probably be good to go to 60% and again wait. You’ll find a sweet spot pretty quickly. By the way this is addictive. Growing is. Not using it.

I already went and bought 40 liters of biobizz all mix and a 70 liter coco brick (AHH Coco XL) because my friend recommended doing 50/50 on those but i probably need to go buy little more soil because four of those 7 gallon pots (got some used airpots from the store) take like 106 liters total.

Should i stick with these or add something else? I'm little broke buying all the stuff so if you have any suggestions if it's necessary to buy anything else? In the nute side i have biobizz grow, bloom, fish-mix, calmag and some ph-. Maybe not the best nutes you could buy but at least something.

So should i buy at least 1 more set of smaller pots for transplanting? Not sure if 3 gallon pots would be perfect or should i go even smaller first so i don't f*ck anything up.

And yeah i was planning to train them to go around the pots like spirals or something like that so i can maximize the space, is that possible haha :blsmoke:

yeah listen to Harley. I was just dumb and assuming you were using some amazon blurple "500w" claimed light. my bad.
I don't have anything else than those LED's, so i should just start with 40-50% power at around 30" when i plant the seed right?

I can take pictures of the setup soon when i'm done with the tent, i can get the lights pretty high if i don't use the hangers.

40% if possible. I put mine under HID. Just keep distance.

Dont kno much about biobizz...but i assume its an organic soil. If so youll be fine w that and coco..
Honestly for a beginner i would have gone w a simpler nut mix like fox farm trio or adv nutes. But just make sure u read up on what you have and youll b fine..
Some people actually start in theyre final pots... i wld recommend startin in cups.. and at least do 3 gals..then 7. That makes not overwatering way easier...
I would mainline once and then lst... which can be a spiral as u said. Grow to 5 or 6 nodes...then cut all nodes but 3 and 4 givin u 4 arms to tie down.
Also really keep ur height in mind...really!
U may need up to 4 feet between ur light and top of plants. Leaving u at best 30" for pots and plants...
Plan ahead... how will u water..vent..intake..all of that ahead of time

I calculated i have 65.7" from the ground to the LED panels and 54" from the top of my pots to the panels. I can lift up my panels maybe 8" more if necessary.

So i could have about 35" high plants if i keep my panels 22" from the flower canopy, at maximum 43" (3.6ft) high without the hangers. Dunno if that's okay, wonder how tall plants people usually grow at similar conditions.

And at what time/height i would need to flip from veg to bloom? I probably need to do a lot of tying down and let them keep filling up the tent from the sides too.
